How I Used the Lifetime Space Planner to Plan Bear's Backyard

As you can see in my last post, Lifetime recently partnered with the Utah Jazz to sponsor Bear's Backyard--a play area for families. It has become a popular hangout for fans! I had the opportunity to go to a game the other night against the Atlanta Hawks. It was one of the first times coming back since I collaborated with the Lifetime Store to plan the area in October. It turns out, seeing kids having fun on the Lifetime playgrounds and Double Shots were one of the few happy sights that night... our beloved Jazz were 3-pointed to death  by those pesky Hawks, resulting in a score of 110-87. As you can see in this photo, the faces of the people behind us are a little nervous. Fans left still hopeful though. I think we know that the Jazz will get back on their winning streak soon! IMG_0114.gif

When putting together the plan for Bear's Backyard, we were faced with a challenge-- how many fun Lifetime products can you use to create the ultimate play area? Needless to say, I was up to the challenge. So, the first thing we did was meet, and determine which products we needed to show. Then the next thing I did was click over to the www.lifetime.com to use the free Lifetime Space Planner software. With top-view icons of each of our products, already scaled to exact size, it was easy and fun to design the area!  My only drawback was that the Ace Flyer and Helicopter Teeter- Totters have not yet been loaded into the planner... though it did give me a good to-do item for the future. In the image shown here, I had to use default exercise equipment scaled to the size of both these items!

Using the planner was easy to do. I drew out the floor plan, started dragging and and dropping products, and using the measurement tool to determine whether or not they were too close to eachother, I drug them around to fit as many as possible! I got a little ambitious I think, as the Lifetime Store Regional Manager had to remove a few items to increase safety when he actually loaded it with products. blog-image.gif

The next time you need to plan a space with some Lifetime products, I would highly recommend the Lifetime Space Planner! It's free, easy to use, and nothing to download!  There are useful icons for most Lifetime products and all sorts of other indoor and outdoor items-- trees, plants, furniture, landscaping items, and more!  So if you haven't already, click on over to our space planner and check it out! One tip before I go-- one thing I learned about arranging a play area. If you are looking to buy a Lifetime Playground (or already own one), you should know that our slides are fast! Be sure to allow 4'-6' of space in front of the slide. The fast slide is lots of fun for kids!  I remember in one of the local commercials we shot for the Lifetime Store, the kids started going down it as "cannon balls". They laughed like it was the funniest thing in the world!

A Game You Can “Settle” On
With The Holidays fast approaching, I want to share another reason to pull out that Lifetime Card Table and Folding Chairs and gather family and friends together near the fireplace. I would like to recommend another board game called The Settlers of Catan. The Settlers of Catan, which originated in Germany, is surprisingly light and enjoyable in its first play.Players take on the role of immigrants onthe newly discovered island of Catan. The game board is obviously different. It is comprised of several hexagonal tiles randomly arranged into the shape of a large hexagon. Since the tiles will almost certainly be arranged differently for every game, each game will be different. Each tile represents a particular resource such as wood, brick, sheep, ore, or wheat. Each turn, a roll of the two dice determines which hexes produce res...

Lifetime Makes Waves at One of the Largest Outdoor Shows in the World
Many people dont know this, but Salt Lake City, UT is currently home to one of the largest Outdoor Industry shows in the world - Outdoor Retailer! And for those of you not familiar with Lifetimes home base, we are only 30 minutes north of Salt Lake. So lucky for us, this show is smack in our backyard. While we did attend this show last year, we went bigger and better than ever this year! The show began for the Water Sports industry on Wednesday, August 1 at the Open Air Demo held at Jordanelle Reservoir. Jordanelle Reservoir is a beautiful venue for a demo day, especially since it is in such close proximity to the show and to infamous Park City, Utah.We took all of our current Lifetime Kayak models out so retailers and potential dealersfrom all over the world could give our boats a spin.We had the Lifetime Wave, Tamarack, Tam...
