What is your favorite part of Thanksgiving? My wife’s favorite part is going shopping! I find more satisfaction in staying home, eating too much, and watching football, but, to each their own. I went one year with my wife and after I got beat by a bunch of spry and motivated ladies while trying to get some sheets, I decided to retire from Black Fridaying (is that even a word?). My goal is to help you know where you can find our products. With so many different retailers carrying our products, I wanted to help you wade through the mess. If you’re looking for a new basketball hoop, Sports Authority, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Big 5, and Walmart have hoops on sale. You can get a 50" Portable Basketball Hoop at Dick’s Sporting Goods. At Sports Authority, you can get a hoop ranging from one of our youth hoops... More

I can’t even tell you how excited I am about our new Kid’s Furniture! This is a project that the whole company has rallied around – even employees can’t wait to get their hands on these! The Lifetime Children’s Square Folding Table and Stacking Chairs are hitting Costco stores this week! They are absolutely perfect for homes, daycares, parties, etc. and would be great as your kids’ Thanksgiving Table this year. The table comes in our traditional almond color, and the cute stack chairs are available in blue, green, and almond. The great thing about our tables and chairs is that they clean up super easily. They can handle food spills, finger paints, and craft paints, coloring, etc. Another thing I love about these products is they are unique! At Lifetime, we are inventors, we are designers,... More

Halloween is such a fun time of year! Who doesn’t love costumes, face paint, spooky decorations – and my personal favorite – pumpkin carving?! So last night, my husband and I set out on our pumpkin carving adventure. My husband not only carves pumpkins, but he is amazing at shaving in faces, and doing all sorts of cool stuff. Over the years, he has helped me get more and more into it as well. Since I knew this was going to get pretty messy, I didn’t really want to use my wooden kitchen table, so I decided to pull out my trusty 4-Foot Fold-In-Half Lifetime Table. We live in a smaller apartment, so this is the perfect table for us. It is super easy to store and fits perfectly in our small kitchen. I also have a couple Lifetime chairs which are great for this kind of mess – while still being comfo... More

I had the very unpleasant experience recently of dumping excess lawn clippings directly into my garbage can. The can set out in the sun for a few days before I brought it into the garage. A few days later, WHOA! The can smelled like a skunk had stepped in dog doo-doo, rolled around in raw sewage, and then died in there. I was reminded once again, that lawn clippings should not go directly into the garbage can! I have a composter and do a fair amount of composting. To which, I add lawn clippings when I have brown material to balance it out. The ratio is 1 part green: 20 parts brown.  I am often asked by people who don’t compost if the compost stinks. The answer is no. That sounds strange because of the waste product that goes into making good compost, but it’s true. If the proportions of green and brown mater... More

Angled or Straight Basketball Poles?
On occasion, I have been asked whether I prefer a straight or an angled pole when selecting a portable basketball system. At first glance, an angled pole may appear to have performance or safety advantages, but when looked at from an engineers perspective, some deeper insights can be gained. I sat down with one of Lifetimes head engineers to discuss why Lifetime chooses to use straight basketball poles on our systems. Ed has been an engineer at Lifetime Products since 1993 and has played a large role in developing our basketball systems over the years. Here are some of his insights on angled vs. straight basketball systems. Are basketball systems with an angled pole less likely to tip over than ones with a vertical pole? The stability of a portable system has to do with the weight of the backboard and the weight of the ba...
Narrow 18" Table Saves Space
We all use folding tables for a variety of reasons. Just think of how you use your tables. You can probably think of a few different uses, right? At Lifetime, we provide affordable quality tables in all shapes and sizes for that exact reason. For dining and eating, a standard banquet style table works really well - the 30-inch wide surface provides the right amount of space to lay out the food and still give you room for plates and table settings across from each other. Now, the question I pose today is what about the times when you just need to display food in a buffet style and you need to keep the table out of the way?Well, a great option for you would be to use one of our 18-inch wide LifetimeConference Tables as that perfect buffet table for the home, office, or church get together. This style of table is a recent addit...
