All Lifetime Sheds are very durable and built to last, but if you happen to live in an area that receives an excessive amount of snowfall and/or high winds, the engineers at Lifetime Products have designed a special shed accessory especially with you in mind--our shed weather kits!  We are now offering a Snow Load Kit for the Lifetime 8 ft and 11 ft storage sheds, as well as an Extreme Weather Kit for the 8 ft storage sheds. (Please note that these kits are not compatible with the Lifetime garden style sheds in which the doors are located in the longer side.) The Snow Load Kit consists of steel brackets to reinforce the roof truss and increase the snow load weight capacity of your 8 ft or 11 ft storage shed roof to 30 lbs per square foot.  The Extreme Weather Kit for the 8 ft storage shed includes bracket rein... Wow! When we announced we were hosting our biggest giveaway of the year, your entries started rolling in fast!  Not only did we give away our BIGGEST type of product we make, we also had the biggest number of entries to date.  We asked you to simply tell us how you would use a Lifetime shed and, boy, did we get an earful.   Lawn and garden equipment topped the list as the most popular items people planned to keep in a Lifetime shed. However, storing outdoor toys and bikes, garage stuff and tools, extra kids' clothes, and holiday decorations were also frequently mentioned.   We even had some creative plans including to use the shed for a workshop, a "man cave", a playhouse, storing boat equipment, storing pool equipment, hiding a water tank, and keeping firewood ...  Using a composter is a great way to reduce, reuse, and recycle yard and kitchen waste.  Unfortunately, humans aren't the only ones who have figured out the benefits of composting…pests and rodents have, too!  I frequently hear on Twitter and online forums from people who have squirrels, rats, and other pesky critters taking advantage of the free dining facility in their backyard composter.   Eeeew! As unpleasant as that may be, I do have good news...  we've designed the Lifetime Compost Tumbler to be pest-proof!  How?  First, we made it a little trickier for pests to climb onto a Lifetime Composter bin by raising it off the ground on a weather-resistant steel frame.  But, even if critters do manage to make it onto the bin of a Lifetime Composter,  the double-walled, h... Plastic Sheds
Plastic storage sheds are a must-have for anyone that has a yard. Storage sheds in general help you to keep your tools and other yard stuff organized, out of the weather, and out of the yard. Bags of compost or fertilizer store well in a weather-proof shed, and if you lock your outdoor storage shed these potentially harmful bags can be stored out of reach of children, pets, or vandals. Lifetime plastic garden sheds have some distinct benefits over traditional stick-framed sheds, and dont even get me started about flimsy metal sheds. Wood sheds need to be maintained to keep them safe from the elements. Walls and doors need to be scraped and painted somewhat frequently to keep the exterior weather-tight, shingles need to be replaced every so often. Insects and rodents love wood, its a natural element, they can eat, gnaw thro...
How Do You Move A 500lb Bouncy Castle?
A few weeks ago my little girl turned 4 years old. We celebrated with a Tinkerbell themed party at our house. The birthday girl loved the Tinkerbell cake I made, and the other party girls were thrilled with the handmade Tinkerbell fairy skirts I hid in the trees for them and the sparkle pixie dust I sprayed on each of them. But, despite my best fairy efforts, the true hit of the party was the bouncy castlethat my husband decided we "absolutely needed" to rent at very the last minute.Sigh.He was right, the kids (and some adults) jumped non-stop. If you've never rented a bouncy castle, these things are huge and heavy! When they loaded it into our truck at the rental facility, they actually used a forklift. Unfortunately, we don't have the luxury of a forklift at our house. So, how in the world did we manage to get the 500lb def...
2012 Plans Revealed at Semi-Annual Corporate Meeting
This past Saturday was a day we all look forward to here at Lifetime all year long - it was our semi-annual corporate meeting. Yes, it requires us giving up a couple hours on our Saturday, but it's worth it! First of all, it's always great to see about 1,000 of our employees gathered together at one time. But, more importantly, it's also when we get to hear how Lifetime as a company fared during the previous year and we get to hear where we are headed for the new year. And, the owner is gracious enough to share a portion of the company's profits and gives all employees a bonus check at this meeting for helping in the company's success - just one of our many fantastic employee benefits at Lifetime Products! We started this year's meeting by recapping some of the past year's highlights. As part of the recap, Lifetime President...
