Kids' Picnic Table Gets New Color(less)!

So, I have to fess up. Lifetime makes a kids' picnic table, but I don't own one. To make matters worse, I own a Step 2 picnic table instead.  And, I actually bought my kids' picnic table AFTER I worked for Lifetime Products and knew firsthand the great quality in all products from Lifetime.  Oh, stop it!  I can already hear my former co-workers shouting "why, why, why?"  as they read this.

I purchased the table for my son's 2nd birthday. (Great present idea, BTW!)  At the time, we lived in Phoenix  where we had a tiny backyard with an in-ground pool and a piece of grass that was smaller than our master bathroom...no joke.  Everyone's backyard in Phoenix is surrounded by a 6' cement block fence...how cozy, huh?!?  Anyway, with such a small lot and a pool taking up half of it, I didn't want the rest of the "yard" to be mistaken for a daycare with brightly-colored, giant, plastic toys cluttering the space.   It actually all started with the sandbox for Nathan's 1st birthday.  I was adamant about not having a massive, green turtle staring at me when we opened our back door.  Don't get me wrong, those animal-shaped sandboxes are cute, but it was too much for me in our minuscule "yard".  So, I was thrilled when I found a sandbox that was beige and actually looked like it was made out of rocks to "blend in" with our oh-so-beautiful cement block walls.

Then came birthday number 2.  A kids' picnic table seemed liked the perfect gift idea.  And, I must say, it was!  We have used our kids' picnic table a TON.  I wanted to get a table that would sit at least six kids and would be big enough and strong enough for older kids to sit on so Nathan wouldn't outgrow it too quickly.  The Lifetime kids' picnic table met all of that criteria perfectly.  And, it even folded flat for storage. (Although, we didn't need that feature since we lived in Phoenix and could use a picnic table year-round.)  So, what was my problem with the Lifetime table?  Yep, you guessed it, the bright colors.  The Lifetime kid's picnic table had a blueberry blue tabletop with raspberry red benches.  Very fun for kids, but much too busy for our tiny backyard.  Sorry Lifetime.  Even though I helped name the colors, I just couldn't bring myself to buy such vivid furniture.  Call me a traitor.

But, guess what?  Last week when I was looking online at http://www.buylifetime.com/ , I noticed Lifetime now has a new ALMOND-colored kids' picnic table!  I guess I must not be the only crazy mom out there who wants to escape the never-ending rainbow world.  So, now you can buy your little munchkins a picnic table that looks exactly like Mom and Dad's!  And, we all know how much kids' love miniature versions of our stuff.  This thing is identical to the grown-up version.  And, it's built just as tough as the adult picnic tables...kids aren't going to outgrow this one for a loooong time.   Check out the dimensions, you'll be impressed how it stacks up to other kids' tables out there.  Sure wish this would have been around three years ago because I would have bought it in a jiffy!

Moral of this long story...if you're looking to buy a kids' picnic table for this summer, check out the new one from Lifetime.  Trust me, you won't be disappointed with the quality...and now that it is available in almond, you won't be disappointed with the color, either!  :)

Oh, need a little extra incentive to choose the Lifetime kids' picnic table?  Don't forget when you purchase from http://www.buylifetime.com/ shipping is FREE!!  Yep.  Zip, zero, nada.
