Happy Blogging Birthday!

Happy Blogging Birthday!

Happy Blogging Birthday!

I can't believe it's been one year already since I wrote my first blog for Lifetime365.com.  I have to admit, back when the folks at Lifetime first asked me if I was interested in blogging, I was a bit hesitant.  Don't get me wrong, I was super excited they asked me since I am a former Lifetime employee and I LOVE writing.  It was a perfect fit.  But, I wasn't quite sure how I would ever come up with enough topics about Lifetime products from my daily life to blog one to two times a week.

Well, it turns out that when you really like something, it's pretty easy to talk (er, blog) about it non-stop!  Kind of like how people can go on and on and on about their kids.  :)  Until I started this little project, I honestly never realized how many times and ways I use Lifetime products almost every day.  And, as you've probably noticed, I only use a handful of their wide selection of products.  Most of my blogs only focus on folding tables, chairs, sheds, and wheelbarrows.  Why?  Because, quite simply, that's what I own!  That means I haven't even scratched the surface of Lifetime's other assortment of quality products like basketball hoops, utility trailers, composters, and playground equipment.

So, one year and 58 blogs later, happy blogging birthday to me!  Hmmm, maybe it's more of an anniversary than a birthday.  Oh well, moot point.  Either way, I hope my blogs have helped to educate, enlighten, and inspire you at least a little bit over this past year.  Here's to many more blogs to come...

Name- Jan

What I do for a living- First and foremost, I'm a doting mommy of a second grader and a 4-year-old, and a proud wife of a USAF F-16 fighter pilot!  In my pre-children life, I was the Communications Manager for Lifetime Products.  But, once you're a Lifetime fan, you're hooked!  So, after a few years of hiatus, I'm now a WAHM and am happily back on board at Lifetime as a freelance PR Consultant.  In addition to blogging for Lifetime, you can follow and chat with me on Lifetime's Twitter account @Lifetime365 and on the Lifetime Products Facebook page!

Topics I blog about- How I use Lifetime products in my everyday life at home, for kids parties and community activities, as well as inspiring stories... and GIVEAWAYS!  :)

My favorite products from Lifetime- 4x2 Table, 30” Personal Table, Chair, Youth Kayak, and Wheelbarrow.  Although, our Shed and Yard Cart are pretty close favorites, too!

Hide it Under a Skirt
My inspiration for this blog came from a design show I was watching on HGTV a few weeks ago – Summer Showdown. Two expert HGTV designers took the same exact family room and competed to make it the most functional and attractive for the family. Vern Yip was one of the designers. I love Vern’s design style….very simple, comfy, and cozy. And, he’s not over-the-top with whacky, impractical ideas like a lot of the designers. Anyway, the family kept a huge dog kennel in their family room. Vern very cleverly put a table over the kennel and used it as an end table beside the couch. He then used fabric to make a fitted cover for the table to hide the kennel and make the end table attractive. (Here’s the link to the episode. Click to the second picture showing Vern’s winning design and you can just barely see the dog kennel/end table...
New Lifetime Shed Has More Windows and Vertical Siding
We have been busy over the past year developing a new shed. The new Lifetime 8'x 10' shed capitalizes on the experience we have gained from our previous sheds and brings some great new features. If you are familiar with our sheds, you will notice the overall look of this new shed is different. One of the most noticeable differences is the shed walls now have a vertical siding look. Next difference? Windows! We do extensive market research with customers and you told us you like windows. So, we listened to your feedback and added even more windows by putting some in our newly designed doors. Windows allow light into the shed and give it a nice look. The operable window in the sidewall allows airflow so if you are working in the shed you can stay cool. Another difference in this new shed is the roof pitch is higher. This giv...
Lifetime’s Community Service Gardening Project Yields Over 14,000 Pounds of Donated Produce
Man, how time flies! Its been almost six months since our annual service project with the Utah Botanical Center. If you arent aware, every year around one thousand Lifetime employees give back to the local community by participating in our community service project. Its something I look forward to each year and this year was no different; we helped clean and beautify the Utah State University Botanical Center in Kaysville, Utah. Ive had the chance to stop by a couple times since the service project in May and was amazed at how much we accomplished. I also spoke to Dave Anderson from the USU Botanical Center to get a quick update on our main project at the service project, the Food Bank Garden we planted. The garden is used to teach individuals about gardening and the harvested items are donated to the local Food Bank. Anders...
