We’re on Twitter! (what does that mean?)

We’re on Twitter! (what does that mean?)

We’re on Twitter! (what does that mean?)

So this might not be news for many of you, we’re on Twitter! If you already know what Twitter is you can follow us over there: @LifetimeJoe and @Lifetime365.

For those of you who don’t know what Twitter is:

In short, Twitter lets you answer the question “what are you doing?” and share it with your friends. Real life happens between blog posts and email.

Twitter is a social media network that lets its users post short messages (up to 140 characters). People (“tweeps” or “tweeple”) can then search those posts (called “tweets”) for keywords, and can “follow” people that write stuff that interests them. You can also post your own tweets for your own tweeps to read.

But this isn’t an advertisement for Twitter. What we’d like you to know is that we’re on Twitter, we’re posting, and we’re listening!

What does this mean to you?

Well, first off, every week day we will try and post a “Featured Product of the Day”, something that Lifetime makes that you might not know about. We’ll also let you know about sales, promotions, and coupons. And, for you all you frugal folks out there, starting later this week, every time we add an item to our “Clearance Items”, yup, you guessed it, we’ll tweet about that, too! Occasionally we may have contests or other fun things you may be interested in.

Now, for the really helpful part: if you have a question, concern, idea for a product, or novel use of a product you can send us a tweet and we’ll make sure your comment gets to the right people.

Name: Joe

Position at Lifetime Products: Web Developer. What does that mean? I work with the rest of the web team to put great designs into industry standard HTML5, CSS3, ASP.NET MVC, and use other techno-jargon stuff to help our customers find what they're looking for, learn about our products, and have a fun time doing it.

How long at Lifetime Products: Since November 2005

Background: You’ve always wanted to know who on earth Joe is, and even if you haven't we're going to tell you anyway! He was born in Weber County, Utah, USA. He is a descendant of Paiute (Native American) heritage and is a member of the Kanosh (Utah) Band. He is a member of various community, church, and civic organizations, and is actively involved with local, state, and national government. He is concerned with customer service and is striving to educate businesses concerning proper “consumer etiquette”. Joe is a Thawte Web of Trust Notary and is involved with seamless Digital Signatures utilizing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and similar technologies. He is a husband and father. He rides his recumbent bicycle to work every day. He enjoys gardening, houseplants, mobile computing, camping, authoring web sites, working in the yard, and spending time with his family. How does he do it all? We really don’t have the foggiest. Some have suspected he’s discovered the secrets of cold fusion, while others think he may be an android. We may never know for certain.

Spring Break in Port Aransas
Deep breath. Looong slow exhale. Ok, I think Im mentally ready to unwind from my spring break vacation and start writing. As much as my parents deny it, theyre becoming Ohio snowbirds. For the past two years theyve packed their mini van full and moved to Texas for the month of March. They rent a condo right on the beach in Port Aransas on Mustang Island. I am very blessed that they choose to come to Texas rather than Florida so they can spend quality time with me. Ok, who am I kidding, we all know its for the quality time with my kids, not me! :) So, last week we headed to Port Aransas for spring break week to visit my parents. Spring break at Port Aransas is well, different. I did the whole spring break trip to South Padre Island back in my college days. It was pretty much what you see when watching MTVs Spring Break showh...
The perfect Mother's Day gift: Kayak Adventures!
Last year I wanted to come up with something original for a Mothers Day gift. I didnt want to go with the traditional flowers, birdhouses, or candy. Showing her how much she means to me and how much I appreciate everything she does is really important. I racked my brain for days trying to come up with something creative, something different and something that could be enjoyed for more than just one day a year. What would surprise her? What could I do that she wouldnt expect? Then it hit me! A kayak!! When Mothers Day arrived she was never more excited! Instantly she began listing off all the places she could go and how jealous all her friends would be. I think the thing she liked the most was that now we could go out kayaking together. Not only did this give her a new activity, but it gave her a fun way to hang out with her ...
