Labor Day Fun

Labor Day Fun

Labor Day Fun

I always look forward to Labor Day with such mixed emotions. Naturally, I love having the three-day weekend and having my hubby home for an extra day of fun or to-do projects.  But, it also means summer is officially over.  :(

My son, Nathan, started preschool today so we wanted to spend our Labor Day weekend enjoying the last remaining hours of summer freedom.  We took the kids swimming one day and we also took them to Six Flags Fiesta Texas.  So much fun!  Nathan was tall enough to ride a few of the adult roller coasters this year so that made it even more exciting for all of us.  (Wow, there is nothing more heartwarming than watching your child grin literally ear-to-ear all day long from having such genuine fun and thrills!)

But, just like my last post, our adventure started off with Lifetime!  It’s everywhere!  To enter Six Flags, you have to walk through metal detectors and have your bags inspected, kind of like at an airport.  Behind every metal detector, they had a Lifetime 4-Foot Adjustable Height Table for the security worker to put the bags.  The tables were set at the highest setting (countertop height) so the workers could easily look through bags without having to bend over all day and get a backache.  I was hoping we might catch a glimpse of some more Lifetime tables throughout the park to eat on etc., but most of the eating facilities had permanent table fixtures.  It was still cool to see such a big-name establishment like Six Flags understanding the practicality of Lifetime Adjustable Height Tables!

Take Home Lifetime Tables for the Holidays
The leaves are beginning to change colors and there's a frosty nip in the air. Autumn has arrived. It only takes a couple of seconds to set one up and the folding legs ma...
Utah's Historic Windy Day
Wow, what a week we just had. Lifetime is headquartered in Clearfield Utah. Clearfield is in North Davis County. Davis County, asyou may have heard on the national news, was the sight of some historically strong winds on Thursday, December 1. The mountains we have here typically shield us from things like tornadoes, but when the jet stream is just right, wind is forced up the Wasatch mountains and slams down on us. This only happens every 10 to 15 years. Early Thursday morning we woke up at my house to the fence missing, the trampoline missing, and flying debris. The winds were so strong that to go outside was dangerous as debris of all shapes and sizes was flying around. The National Weather Service said the winds reached up to 100 MPH. These are the same wind speeds you find in a category 2 hurricane. By the time it calmed...
Labor Day Bike Trail Bribes
I hope all of you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. From neighborhood barbeques to lazy days on the lake and everything in between, it seems most people find some way to celebrate the holiday by squeezing in one last hoorah of outdoor fun before summer and warm temperatures come to an end. Me? Well, we are still enjoying exploring all the wonders and activities of our new home state of Colorado. So, we started our Labor Day by attending our little community parade which honored our local firefighters for all of their heroic efforts and endless hours of protecting the Colorado Springs area during this summer's historic and tragic Waldo Canyon fire. THANK YOU, firefighters! Then, since it was such a gorgeous day, we took advantage of living in one of Mother Nature's most beautiful adventure lands and took our kids on their f...
