Dear Family – a Letter from Dad

Dear Family – a Letter from Dad

Bill Cosby had it right. Yes, many of us dads are the “fun ones,” the “jokesters,” and the “dress up dolls.” There are fathers all over the world “who get things they can’t use and . . . don’t want.” With Father’s Day coming up I wanted to offer some suggestions for things that Dad actually wants:

WantDeck Box. Give dad a Lifetime Deck Box so he has somewhere to quickly put away all of the kid’s toys left on the lawn. Keep them safe so he doesn't hit them with the lawn mower anymore. So, really . . . it’s a gift that keeps giving.
Don’t Want – Another light-up, pink, paisley, or superhero tie. It’s just another burp rag for the baby to spit up on.

Want – New shed to store all the yard tools in. You know you all keep telling us to put the tools away.
Don’t Want – “Cute” stuffed animal driver cover to hang on his golf bag. In case you haven’t forgotten, we’re not perpetual 6-year-olds. We’re men! *grunt*

WantHorizontal shed to store the kid’s bikes in – and get them out of the garage. The more organization, the better, right?
Don’t Want – One of those visors with fake hair attached to it. Bald is beautiful.

WantKayak or paddleboard for taking to the lake. Everybody wins!
Don’t Want – Nose hair trimmer. Well, not unless we ask for it. We’re not complete animals. Besides, it’s not nose hair, it’s part of my mustache and mustaches are manly.

WantPicnic table for serving his masterfully cooked BBQ. We’ll gladly give all you moms a night off from cooking.
Don’t Want – Car Wax. Believe me, we have plenty.

WantBasketball hoop. Again . . . it’s for the kids . . . really.
Don’t Want – Coffee mug. We appreciate the “World’s Greatest Dad” compliment, but we're still bying for the World's Greatest NBA player title.

Take a look at the clock. It's 4:00 and the clubs are still open! Head over to pick up one of our great Lifetime products for Dad this year, and let him know just how much you love him.

Lifetime Products: A “Lean” Manufacturing Leader - Learns from Toyota
Three of our executives--President, COO, and VP of Research Development--recently had the opportunity to visit Toyotas assembly plant in Japan. Their visit was not to see how cars and trucks are built, but rather to learn more about Toyotas Lean manufacturing ways. Lean is a term used frequently here at Lifetime. Basically, Lean is centered on preserving value with less work. Lifetime has been implementing Lean methods for more than ten years however; there has been renewed emphasis the past two years. Some of which include flow of material and plant layout. The concept of Lean manufacturing is growing in popularity around the world but it originally derived from the Toyota Production System (TPS) in Japan. Our executives said Japan, in general, is an unbelievably clean and neat country which is directly reflected in their ...
How to Properly Fill a Portable Basketball Base
Now that you've had some time to assemble that new Lifetime Portable Basketball System you got for Christmas, let's cover a few important things that every basketball hoop owner should know. (Yes, that means this is important for you to read even if you aren't a brand new basketball hoop owner.) Portable basketball systems are convenient. You can purchase a Lifetime Basketball System and be playing basketball the same day. However, when you assemble a portable basketball system, it is important to always follow the manufacturer's instructions very carefully. And, that means right down to the final instruction about filling your portable base. I have seen lots of systems with weights, bags of cement, or bricks on top of the base to hold it down - like in these pictures. This is a big "no-no" and very dangerous. We rigorously ...
Sure to Be a Family Favorite - New Lifetime Driveway 3 Sport Set
I am very excited to talk about our latest product.... the Lifetime Driveway 3 Sport Set. It combines the fun of Pickleball, QuickStart Tennis, Badminton, and more - all into one convenient product. Put it this way - if you're starting your Christmas lists already, get this on your list because it has family fun written all over it! The cool thing about this product is the portability... no cement required, no ground stakes to secure, and no support strings to get tangled in when playing. The 1.75-gallon portable bases fill with sand or water for stability during play, yet can easily be moved and transported - making the system ideal to use in a home driveway and backyard, or pack up and take to a beach, pool, or park. In addition, the unique telescoping poles allow the Lifetime Driveway 3 Sport Set to be set at 61" for Badm...
