Lifetime's New CFO Honored as Utah Business Magazine's Forty Under 40

Brian.jpgWe are excited to share with you that our new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Brian Slagle, was recently honored as one of Utah Business Magazine’s “Forty Under 40.”

Each year for the past twelve years Utah Business Magazine has spotlighted forty of the most promising young professionals under 40 years of age. The Forty Under 40 awards are designed to recognize Utah’s best, brightest, and most promising talent. The award highlights up-and-coming leaders and entrepreneurs who have created a ground-breaking technology or an executive who has uniquely brought something more to their position.

“I’m honored to be recognized for this award,” said Slagle. “I’m passionate about working hard to accomplish goals and am grateful to work for a company who cares so much for its employees.”

About Brian:
Brian Slagle has been with Lifetime Products for over eight years and most recently has been promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) after former CFO, Mark Whiting, retired last October.

Brian is a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves where he serves as a Finance Officer. He is a Veteran having served in Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, and Egypt. Among his notable decorations he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004. In 2010, he worked for seven months in Lifetime’s China operation gaining invaluable international experience. He has 17 years of diverse accounting experience with Public Audit and Tax, Internal Audit, and Corporate Finance and Accounting.

We’re proud to have a person like Brain leading the financial end of our business at Lifetime Products, and delighted that he’s received this award. Congratulations Brian!

Lifetime Garden Beds Are BPA Free
Some of you have asked if the plastic panels on the Lifetime Raised Garden Bed contain BPA (Bishphenol_A). Good question! BPA is a plasticizer that is used in the manufacturing of PVC (Polyvinyl chloride, recycling type 3 7) and other polycarbonate plastics to make them flexible. It is used mostly in flexible PVC piping, toys, plastic bottles, and the lining of some canned goods. In 2008, BPA became controversial as research indicated that it may be dangerous to our healthespecially to babies. The US Food and Drug Administration has now taken steps to reduce human exposure to BPA in our food supply and food containers. The good news is thatLifetime's plastic garden bed panels and the frost coverDO NOT contain BPA. They are a Green Product. We use high-density polyethylene plastic (HDPE, recycling code type 2), and non toxic...
