It’s Time to Dust off the Kayaks, It’s Summertime!

Memorial Day has past and summer’s had its unofficial start!  As the weather heats up and the kids finish up theIMG_6915_2.jpg school year, we are all in need of a vacation.  These days, taking that one big trip to Orlando or hopping on a  cruise to the islands can put a big hurting on the old wallet.   Many people are choosing smaller and more frequent vacations.  And lets be honest, who doesn’t want more vacations?  I know I do.  Here at Lifetime, we wonder, why can’t every weekend be a vacation?  Oh, but it can!!

Having a few kayaks laying around for the family can make it easy, affordable and fun to stay closer to home this summer.  You can head to your local lake one weekend and the next weekend do a river float.  The options are endless!  You won’t be paying expensive entrance fee’s, spending hundreds of dollars on gas, or paying an arm and a leg for accommodations.  All you need are some kayaks, paddles, family and friends.  In fact, you can get a some kayaks for the price you would pay for a few tanks of gas on a long drive in an SUV or just one plane ticket.  Unlike a week vacation that comes to a sad and often surreal end, you just get to look forward to the next weekend’s adventures!  Where will we go, what wildlife will we see, or what friends will want to join us!?

DSC_0002_small.jpgRemember the neighbor that had the pool?  Everyone wanted to come play, swim and cool off.  Well, kayaks are the new pool!  Everyone will want to try your kayaks!  It is the new way to beat the heat, get outdoors and enjoy great company.  Instead of spending all that money for 1 week of fun, why not pick up some kayaks and have years of fun for the whole family? You won’t regret it!  Lifetime Kayaks wants you to make every weekend a vacation!

Position at Lifetime Products- Watersports Marketing Manager for Lifetime and Emotion brand kayaks

How long at Lifetime Products- Since January 2012!  I came as a packaged deal with the acquisition of Emotion Kayaks where I’d been for over a year.

Topics I blog about- Events and news in water sports, places to kayak, and enjoying the outdoors with friends and family.

My favorite products from Lifetime- Any of the Kayaks and paddleboards.  One of these days I’ll get my hands on a Fold-up Trailer and a Camp and Tailgate Table!

On a Saturday afternoon you can find me- This question will always depend on the season!  When the weather outside is frightful, you can find me at one of the nearby ski resort enjoying the fresh snow and crisp air or snowshoeing through the mountains.  Once the sun is shinning and the birds are chirping, my Saturdays are spent outdoors hiking, backpacking, biking, paddle boarding or my most favorite activity of all, kayaking!  All while enjoying the company of good friends of course!

My favorite escape- Anything whitewater, whether it be kayaking or rafting.  A more relaxing escape would be taking my camera out into the wilderness to photograph everything from wildlife to serene landscapes.

Basketball Polar Bear
I took a trip to San Diego this past weekend for theInternational PRSA conference.Awesome information and great speakers. But, four daysofworkshops, exhibitions, and keynote speakers-- needless to say, it's healthy to take a break! What better place to dojust thatthan the San Diego Zoo!For me, the highlight of the zoo is watching the polar bears. I was so excited to get to the exhibit, only to find him spread out on his belly, fast asleep. After a few minutes of debatingwether or notI should move on,suddenly, heopened his eyes and lumbered over to the pool. Kids and adults alike ran toward the glass, watching with excitement. This polar bear knew exactly what he wanted to do. He swam to one side of the water, grabbed his ball withone humongous paw, and swamto the other side right in front of agroup of children. What happ...

Dear Family – a Letter from Dad
Bill Cosby had it right. Yes, many of us dads are the fun ones, the jokesters, and the dress up dolls. There are fathers all over the world who get things they cant use and . . . dont want. With Fathers Day coming up I wanted to offer some suggestions for things that Dad actually wants: Want Deck Box. Give dad a Lifetime Deck Box so he has somewhere to quickly put away all of the kids toys left on the lawn. Keep them safe so he doesn't hit them with the lawn mower anymore. So, really . . . its a gift that keeps giving. Dont Want Another light-up, pink, paisley, or superhero tie. Its just another burp rag for the baby to spit up on. Want New shed to store all the yard tools in.You know you all keep telling us to put the tools away.Dont Want Cute stuffed animal driver cover to hang on his golf bag. In case you havent forg...
