Card Table and Chairs - A Wedding Gift of Yesteryear?

card table and chairs.JPGI'm not a wedding expert, but I think it's safe to say that wedding gifts have changed over the years.  Or, at least the way we decide what to give as a wedding gift.  Today, the happy couple typically registers at their favorite store for gifts they want or think they need for their new home.  So, a majority of gift givers simply pick something off the list or give a gift card so the couple can make their own purchase.  Sure, this method has some advantages.  But, in most instances, gone are the days of creative gift giving.  Case and point… I can't remember the last time I was at a wedding and saw a card table and chairs sitting there as a gift.  But apparently, once upon a time, a card table and chairs was a popular wedding gift.  We had numerous entrants to this month's giveaway who said they currently own a card table that was given to them as a wedding gift 10, 20 and even 30 years ago.

It's kind of sad that people don't give a card table and chairs as gifts much these days.  After all, card tables and chairs have come a long way!  When you buy a Lifetime Square (aka Card) table, you can purchase a 37" or 34" size, and even ones that fold-in-half with a carry handle.  And, gone are the days of those wobbly card tables with vinyl tabletops that tear the first time you accidentally drop some scissors on them.  Lifetime Square Tables have a sturdy, steel frame and a thick, blow-molded polyethylene tabletop that is easy to clean, stain resistant, and won't tear, crack, warp, or peel.

I'll admit, the bride and groom may not be jumping up and down at first, but they'll soon appreciate the practicality and versatility of receiving a card table and chairs as a gift (especially a Lifetime Card Table and Chairs).  When they first move in to their home and don't have a dining table, they can pull out that card table and it's an instant dining space.  Then, they can move it to the office for the computer desk or in the family room for a TV stand.  Later as the couple matures, it may eventually get tucked away, but they will surely find various reasons to use it again and again for holiday dinners, crafts, game nights, and more.

Regardless of whether you decide to revive the idea of giving a card table and chairs for a wedding gift, we're happily giving a Lifetime Fold-In-Half Card Table and four Lifetime Folding Chairs to Krista G. of Burkburnett, TX.  She was our luckly October winner who will get to seat her extra Thanksgiving dinner guests around her new Lifetime Table and can then pull it out throughout the years for bake sales, hobbies, and a whole lot more.  Congratulations to Krista and thanks to all of you who took the time to enter and share your feedback.

By the way, giving a Lifetime Card Table and Lifetime Folding Chairs as a Christmas gift to newlyweds is also a great idea.  And, you can purchase them onilne with FREE shipping every day in the Lifetime Store Online.  (Hint, hint… only 47 shopping days left until Christmas!)

Haul out the yard cart, spring has sprung
Ive written about the LifetimeWheelbarrow in a couple of my posts (here and here), it really is a wonderful thing. Some readers have asked me if Lifetime has anything suited for larger projects or larger properties where a wheelbarrow (though effective) is inefficient. The answer is a wholehearted YES! Lifetime makes a small utility trailer and yard cart that works both as a cart and a trailer that you can pull behind an ATV or riding mower. The Yard Carts heavy-duty, extra-large tub can hold 10-cubic feet, is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic materials, and can haul up to 650 pounds. Lets see your old wheelbarrow do that! Now available with FREE SHIPPING from BuyLifetime.com.
Which Lifetime Chair Is Right for You?
Lifetime Products is a leading manufacturer in high-density polyethylenefolding chairs. Keep on the look out andI'm sure you'll notice them everywhere from industrial break rooms to professional waiting rooms. Why? Because they are durable and require very little maintenance to look as good as new throughout many years of constant public use, indoors or out. That's especially important for professional environments, but for me personally, I love Lifetime chairs because THEY'RE COMFORTABLE. If you spend alot of time sitting at a desk suffering from back pains (like I did) you may want to start thinking less about cushioning and more about firm support. I found my cushioned office chair was causing me to slump into the back of the chair with my shoulders rolled forward and absolutely no support against my lower back. My aching...
Lifetime to Expand Manufacturing Facility in Utah
Have you seen the exciting news recently about Lifetime? If you saw the front page of Friday's Standard Examiner, as well as the stories in the Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune newspapers, you may alreadyknow that Lifetime is planning to expandits plastics facility in Utah!Last Thursday, the Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED), in partnership with Davis County and Clearfield City, awarded Lifetime Products a substantial tax credit as an incentive for Lifetime to expand manufacturing facilities in Utah. This is exciting news for us and the future of Lifetime. As Lifetime President Richard Hendrickson explained, Lifetime, as a global company, is always looking for product and processes that allow us to expand globally, domestically, and especially locally in Utah where we were founded 25 years ago and are headqu...
