My kayak outing!

My kayak outing!

My kayak outing!

P1150860.JPGEvery summer, my church plans some sort of camping/boating outing for many reasons but mostly to have fun and enjoy each other’s company. This year was no different. We ended up on the hills of Heber City at Heber Valley Camp. Knowing I worked for Lifetime, I had several requests to bring kayaks for our day at the lake. So, I checked out the trailer with 12 Lifetime Monterrey Kayaks and we spent all day Saturday paddling around. Needless to say, Lifetime kayaks were a hit! I heard nothing but positive compliments about the boats.

578077_10151178981883135_1026453268_n.jpgMany people were amazed at the stability of the kayaks. A lot of people who had never tried kayaking expected the kayaks to feel like canoes that can tip with any sudden movement. But, they’re not! Kayaks have a much wider, flatter hull than a canoe so they are a lot more stable – especially Lifetime kayaks which are designed with increased stability for beginners. After everyone realized how stable and easy the Lifetime kayaks were to use, it was only a matter of time before they decided to start a relay race around a buoy to see if the boys or girls could paddle the fastest. I’ll let you guess who won.

P1150861.JPGThe other misconception several people had was thinking kayaking is a serious and/or an expensive sport, which it doesn’t have to be. Lifetime kayaks are sturdy and affordable for beginner and moderate kayakers. They are intended only for recreational use, not whitewater kayaking (which is an extreme adventure sport). In fact, one of our leader’s wife who had been very apprehensive about trying the kayaks finally decided to go out with her husband and can I just say… the look on her face once she started paddling away was priceless—pure bliss!

Apparently, our outing gave more than a few people the kayaking bug. The next Sunday at church, four people asked where they could purchase Lifetime kayaks because they had such a fun time! Since then, I’ve had another request to use the kayaks for an end of summer gathering on the lake, this time closer to home. I’m anxious to see what kind of things come from our next adventure. I think I’ll start a game of kayak rugby... that’s always fun on kayaks!

Our Lifetime Kayak has been a hit all summer. My boys asked if they could take it up North with us when we went to the cabin with the extended family. Wow, everyone wanted to use the kayak all day...and we only had the one. lol My sister-in-law, had THE hardest time getting her out of it. Then all the boys cousins took turns going across the lake. Last week I asked my youngest if he wanted to go to the beach. All he asked for was to take the Kayak. =)

Lifetime Card Table Comparison
A few months ago, I posted some photos to show you a comparison of the size of Lifetime chairs to a typical folding chair. So, today, I thought I'd go ahead and show you how a Lifetime Card Table compares to a typical card table. First of all, what you may not realize, without having two card tables to compare side-by-side, is that a typical card table is 34" square while the Lifetime card table is actually 37". As you can see by the photo, this provides quite a bit of extra useable surface area. This extra space certainly comes in handy when I seat four people around the table to eat, piece together large puzzles, and more. And, don't worry, the table is still lightweight and easy to carry at just 19lbs. Speaking of weightthe Lifetime card table is engineered for superior strength and durability. In fact, the Lifetime card...
Lifetime's 45th Semi-Annual Company Meeting
When coordinating Lifetime's semi-annual company meeting, I can get caught up in the details rather than appreciating the meeting for what it is. This past Saturday, as I peered from behind my laptop into a sea of more than 800 blue 25 Years Lifetime T-shirts, it hit me. Our semi-annual meeting is a unique program one of the few times each year when people from all shifts and departments gather together and hear company updates, see new and upcoming products, and take part in Lifetimes Profit Sharing program. But Ibelieve there is more to this meetingthan what meets the eye... In the 45 times Lifetime has held this meeting, and the years that I have had the pleasure in taking part, I have come to realize what it means. Its our commitment to producing high-quality products. Its our drive to continue to grow profitably maintaini...
The All New Lifetime Power Flex - New Rim, New Adjustment Mechanism
The coolest thing about working at Lifetime Products is our dedication to innovate and make stuff that just doesn't exist yet. Our newest basketball system - the Power Flex System - is my favorite system that we make because of just that. In an industry that is saturated with competition, we were able to come up with an in-groundbasketball system that is unique in many ways. First, we started with the height adjustment mechanism. Our engineers were able to patent new technology with a gas-assist, triggerless handle adjustment called the Power Lift XL Height Adjust. This new Power Lift XL is similar to our existing Power Lift mechanism that Lifetime invented in 1996 - which was the first pneumatic height adjustment mechanism for basketball hoops. However, our new Power Lift XL has larger handle to help make raising and loweri...
