Corporate Semi-Annual Meeting Reveals Growth and Changes

IMG_1478.jpgThis summer’s semi-annual company meeting was a brand new experience for me.  Over past years here at Lifetime, all employees have had the opportunity to hear about the progress and state of the company.  And since Lifetime is a privately-owned company, it’s important that the employees are directly involved!

What was amazing was the opening part of the meeting where we saw how the company has been featured and showcased in public relations this year. From a spotlight on The Price is Right where our kayaks were a showcase prize, to the local news where the work done in our metals and plastics factories took the front stage, to our service project at the Utah State University Botanical Center, and so much more.  I could see that we definitely made waves this year!  And these features on Lifetime are only the beginning.

After hearing aboutIMG_1435.jpg the valuable role of safety in the workplace and the importance of making our jobs here at Lifetime accident-free, we got into the meat and potatoes.  We discussed the expansion and opening of a new Lifetime Store coming to St. George, UT. And each category at Lifetime was featured; we saw the growth of our Tables & Chairs, Lawn & Garden, Sporting Goods, and Water Sports.  And we heard of the positive headway in our move towards new changes, and even…new products that we’re partnering with, and others hitting shelves this next year! Hearing about the growth plans just reinforced who we are, for me: innovative.

Lifetime is growing. We’re moving forward.  We always have, and always will. As many of our new products and changes come forward, you can be sure they’ll reflect who we are, and what we plan to keep doing for you, our customers.  We can’t thank you enough!

Position at Lifetime Products: Product Marketing Administrator. I am the copywriter and administrator for the marketing department—writing copy for ads, scripts for videos, editing copy, and just about anything else that’s needed of me.  I get to write and edit for a living…it’s pretty much a dream come true!

How long at Lifetime Products: Since May 2012

Topics I blog about: Lifestyle and News

Favorite products from Lifetime: I love being outdoors!  Most of my family vacations while growing up were camping or fishing trips of some sort, and so I absolutely love our kayaks and tent trailers.  There’s just something amazing about getting away from the loud noise of regular life and entering a place that’s peaceful just with family or friends, whether it’s grand mountains or a mirrored lake.  But I'm definitely itching to get my hands on quite a long list of Lifetime Products.

On a typical Saturday afternoon you can find me: My Saturdays consist of at least five things—errands & cleaning, hiking, reading, writing, and spending time with family & friends.  I’m a big fan of relaxing, and the reading and writing is like a mini vacation; a chance for me to go into another world and spend time with my other “friends” for a short while.  Sometimes that relaxation extends into my family and friends time as I catch up on new movies or television shows…I don’t even dare list all the shows I’m fanatic about (Vampire Diaries, Fringe, New Girl, and believe me when I say the list goes on...).   But most of all, living in Utah gives me a plethora of hiking trails.  Taking an hour or two to get away is just the recharge I need.

My favorite escape: BOOKS.  I’ve purchased (shhhh) about $300 worth of new books in just two months and read about twenty of them so far.

Other blogs/websites I can’t get enough of:  I’m a self-diagnosed Facebook addict, but I love reading friend’s blogs, MSN Wonderwall (Yes, I’m a celebrity gossip enthusiast), GoodReads, Barnes and Nobel, Pinterest, and GrammarGirl (a grammar must-know!), and of course my own writing/book review blog: WritingMindCelebrities.blogspot.com.

Basketball Polar Bear
I took a trip to San Diego this past weekend for theInternational PRSA conference.Awesome information and great speakers. But, four daysofworkshops, exhibitions, and keynote speakers-- needless to say, it's healthy to take a break! What better place to dojust thatthan the San Diego Zoo!For me, the highlight of the zoo is watching the polar bears. I was so excited to get to the exhibit, only to find him spread out on his belly, fast asleep. After a few minutes of debatingwether or notI should move on,suddenly, heopened his eyes and lumbered over to the pool. Kids and adults alike ran toward the glass, watching with excitement. This polar bear knew exactly what he wanted to do. He swam to one side of the water, grabbed his ball withone humongous paw, and swamto the other side right in front of agroup of children. What happ...

Lifetime’s Community Service Gardening Project Yields Over 14,000 Pounds of Donated Produce
Man, how time flies! Its been almost six months since our annual service project with the Utah Botanical Center. If you arent aware, every year around one thousand Lifetime employees give back to the local community by participating in our community service project. Its something I look forward to each year and this year was no different; we helped clean and beautify the Utah State University Botanical Center in Kaysville, Utah. Ive had the chance to stop by a couple times since the service project in May and was amazed at how much we accomplished. I also spoke to Dave Anderson from the USU Botanical Center to get a quick update on our main project at the service project, the Food Bank Garden we planted. The garden is used to teach individuals about gardening and the harvested items are donated to the local Food Bank. Anders...
