Think Inside the Box

smoker 1.jpgWe love getting feedback from our customers. We have had all kinds of interesting topics sent in to us. This one was no exception. Although we can’t officially promote use of our products for anything other than their intended use, I thought this one was pretty clever.

Stan wrote in telling us how much he loves his Lifetime Outdoor Storage Box. Stan likes to cook meat using a smoker and needed a place to store his smoker on his deck and protect it from the elements. He devised a cleaver way to do this with his Lifetime Storage Box. First, he secured the box standing on one end. Then, he built a sliding shelf in it. Now, whenever he wants to smoke his meat he opens the “door” of the box and slides out the shelf. Voila, the smoker is ready to go. When he is done with it, and the smoker has cooled, he slides it back into the box shuts the door. His smoker is out of sight and protected from the elements.smoker 2.jpgsmoker 3.jpg

Again, we don’t officially sanction this type of use of our product, but think this was certainly a pretty clever idea.smoker 4.jpg

The Lifetime Outdoor Storage Box is a great product. I use mine as a giant toy box big enough to hold even the bigger toys. My parents use theirs to store pool supplies, and have installed boards to divide it into compartments for pool toys, too.

If you don’t have one of our deck storage boxes, you can check them out in the USA at Lowe’s. They come in two sizes (80-gallon and 130-gallon), and in two different color schemes. You can also find them in the Lifetime Store Online.

Thanks so much for sharing, Stan.  If you have a creative way you use your Lifetime product like Stan did, drop us a line on this blog, our Facebook page, or via email to pr@lifetime.com.  We'd love to hear how you think outside - or inside - the box!

I think we can use it to store jewellery and other accessories. It can be used to store sport equipments and other accessories.

Hello.

Sorry we don't make covers for them. That's a good idea however.

New Assembly Instructions Page on www.lifetime.com
At Lifetime, we're always looking for ways to improve our website to make it easier for you to use. Most recently, we overhauled how customers access our assembly instructions in the Customer Care section of Lifetime.com. Why is this a big deal? Well, Lifetime makes a lot of products, and we're continually finding ways to improve upon them to make them easier to assemble, less expensive, and for various other reasons. When these improvements are made, we have to publish a new version of the assembly instructions for that product. On the surface, that's not a big deal because the instructions get printed and packaged inside the box with the rest of the parts. But what happens when a customer loses the instructions? In the past, we've only shown one version of the assembly instructions on our website -- which may or may not ma...
Lifetime Garden Beds Are BPA Free
Some of you have asked if the plastic panels on the Lifetime Raised Garden Bed contain BPA (Bishphenol_A). Good question! BPA is a plasticizer that is used in the manufacturing of PVC (Polyvinyl chloride, recycling type 3 7) and other polycarbonate plastics to make them flexible. It is used mostly in flexible PVC piping, toys, plastic bottles, and the lining of some canned goods. In 2008, BPA became controversial as research indicated that it may be dangerous to our healthespecially to babies. The US Food and Drug Administration has now taken steps to reduce human exposure to BPA in our food supply and food containers. The good news is thatLifetime's plastic garden bed panels and the frost coverDO NOT contain BPA. They are a Green Product. We use high-density polyethylene plastic (HDPE, recycling code type 2), and non toxic...
