Fresh Efforts To Go Green!

Just when you think things couldn’t possibly get better…they do!  Lifetime is now one of seven busineUntitled.jpgsses actively participating in the Utah Industrial Energy Efficiency Program (UIEEP). The program, which was initiated to help industrial customers increase their efforts in energy efficiency, has already seen massive energy savings.  And that’s not only great news for Lifetime, but for the members of our community.

UIEEP is already taking leaps and bounds to encourage businesses to reduce their energy intensity and emissions, provide training and technical assistance as companies like Lifetime apply energy-saving efforts, and give credit for energy efficiency successes that maximize performance.

As those who know us well can testify, Lifetime has been dedicated to the environment and our ability to reduce, reuse, and recycle—from recycling and reusing our own plastic and metals, to efforts in making our packaging streamlined and fully recyclable.  This is just one more amazing step towards making the earth a better place to live!  And, come on…who doesn’t want that?

Position at Lifetime Products: Product Marketing Administrator. I am the copywriter and administrator for the marketing department—writing copy for ads, scripts for videos, editing copy, and just about anything else that’s needed of me.  I get to write and edit for a living…it’s pretty much a dream come true!

How long at Lifetime Products: Since May 2012

Topics I blog about: Lifestyle and News

Favorite products from Lifetime: I love being outdoors!  Most of my family vacations while growing up were camping or fishing trips of some sort, and so I absolutely love our kayaks and tent trailers.  There’s just something amazing about getting away from the loud noise of regular life and entering a place that’s peaceful just with family or friends, whether it’s grand mountains or a mirrored lake.  But I'm definitely itching to get my hands on quite a long list of Lifetime Products.

On a typical Saturday afternoon you can find me: My Saturdays consist of at least five things—errands & cleaning, hiking, reading, writing, and spending time with family & friends.  I’m a big fan of relaxing, and the reading and writing is like a mini vacation; a chance for me to go into another world and spend time with my other “friends” for a short while.  Sometimes that relaxation extends into my family and friends time as I catch up on new movies or television shows…I don’t even dare list all the shows I’m fanatic about (Vampire Diaries, Fringe, New Girl, and believe me when I say the list goes on...).   But most of all, living in Utah gives me a plethora of hiking trails.  Taking an hour or two to get away is just the recharge I need.

My favorite escape: BOOKS.  I’ve purchased (shhhh) about $300 worth of new books in just two months and read about twenty of them so far.

Other blogs/websites I can’t get enough of:  I’m a self-diagnosed Facebook addict, but I love reading friend’s blogs, MSN Wonderwall (Yes, I’m a celebrity gossip enthusiast), GoodReads, Barnes and Nobel, Pinterest, and GrammarGirl (a grammar must-know!), and of course my own writing/book review blog: WritingMindCelebrities.blogspot.com.

Fold-up Trailer-- Extreme Dad's Day Gift
For me, it's often hard to shop for dad around Father's Day. Every dad's different, and mine is especially content with what he has. As he puts it, he "gets along just fine"... which is pretty annoying when Father's Day rolls around. Looks like MomGadget.com is out to fix this problem. The blog about gadgets and gizmos that make mom's life easier presents options for almost every type of dad and any situation. Whether you're on a budget, going in on a special gift, or if you have a little extra to spend, you should see something he'd like in their Father's Day of posts. Included in one post is the Lifetime Fold-up Utility Trailer: "What dad doesnt have stuff they like to haul? Whether its to haul something they just bought at Home Depot or just moving things from point A to point B. Men like to move stuff! The Fold-Up U...
How Do You Move A 500lb Bouncy Castle?
A few weeks ago my little girl turned 4 years old. We celebrated with a Tinkerbell themed party at our house. The birthday girl loved the Tinkerbell cake I made, and the other party girls were thrilled with the handmade Tinkerbell fairy skirts I hid in the trees for them and the sparkle pixie dust I sprayed on each of them. But, despite my best fairy efforts, the true hit of the party was the bouncy castlethat my husband decided we "absolutely needed" to rent at very the last minute.Sigh.He was right, the kids (and some adults) jumped non-stop. If you've never rented a bouncy castle, these things are huge and heavy! When they loaded it into our truck at the rental facility, they actually used a forklift. Unfortunately, we don't have the luxury of a forklift at our house. So, how in the world did we manage to get the 500lb def...
What Happened in Vegas Did Not Stay in Vegas
A fewweeks ago, I traveled down to Las Vegas, Nevada to attend the National Hardware Show. This show is a annual exhibit of manufacturers of Lawn and Garden products, as well as other miscellaneous products. Of course, I was most interested in the array of Lawn and Garden products. I felt a little guilty being there, as I was technically there for work but secretly looking around for myself. There are so many new and innovative products coming out for the yard. Fortunately, I flew down there so I didn't have room in my suitcase to buy anything and bring it back. I don't typically use this word, but "giddy" is a good description about how seeing all of these products made me feel about Spring starting and all the gardening I am soon going to be able to do! Lifetime had a large booth at the show, displaying our awesome Lawn an...
