Will Luck O' the Irish Help You Win A Lifetime Raised Garden Bed?

march 2012 contest ended.jpgThis giveaway has ended.  Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day.  And, as you know, tradition is to wear green.  But, rather than wear green, we thought it would be more fun to give something green instead.

Our Facebook fans had some really great green guesses yesterday including some we didn't even think of!  Money, green kayaks, and Earthtone playsets were all great guesses.  However, we were thinking something along the less traditional green lines… like a Lifetime Raised Garden Bed!

Ok, so maybe it's not actually green in color. (Although there is a little green on the cover. Does that count?) But, you can fill a Lifetime Raised Garden Bed with lots of beautiful green vegetables and it can help you live a more "green" lifestyle.   Ok, ok, kind of a stretch, we admit. But are you complaining?  It's still a free giveaway!  And, after all, this was one of the top products our entrants put on their wish list during our December gift certificate giveaway.

So, this month, one lucky random winner will receive a Lifetime Raised Garden Bed Kit that includes two 4'x4' boxes (that can be used separately or stacked together for deep root plants) and an early start enclosure.  If you've never tried square-foot gardening, you're going to love it!  Raised beds save time and save space.  Better soil and less weeds means easier maintenance.  Plus, plant placement is done differently in a raised garden box, and this allows you to grow five times as many crops as traditional gardening because it uses 20% of the space of single-row gardens. The best part? You can have this Lifetime Raised Garden Kit up and ready to go in less than one hour!

Ready to try to win your pot o' (garden) gold?

How to Enter:

  1. Send an e-mail to PR@lifetime.com with the subject line "March contest" and your full name in the email message.
  2. Tell us if you already own a raised garden bed.  If you do, what material is it made of and what do you like or not like about it?

Bonus Entries:

  1. "Like"  Lifetime Products on Facebook.  Once you "Like" us (or if you already do), send an email to PR@lifetime.com with your full name telling us you "Like" Lifetime Products and you'll receive one bonus entry.
  2. Follow us on Twitter @Lifetime365 and retweet to your friends "Like gardening? @Lifetime365 is giving away a raised garden bed! http://bit.ly/FOa3fw" to receive one bonus entry.

The contest begins Friday, March 16, 2012 and will end Sunday, Sunday, March 25 at 12:00 Midnight MST.  We'll announce one random winner on Monday, March 26, 2012.  (Each person may only enter once via email, once via Twitter, and once via Facebook.  Click here for complete contest rules.)

I would like the to make the stacked raised bed for my root veggies. Our ground is a heavy clay and this would be great for those veggies. I do not have a raised bed yet but love to garden.:)

I do not already own a raised garden bed, but it is something we have talked about many times. This giveaway would be the perfect time to get started!

I think this is such a clever giveaway to go along with the green theme of St. Patrick's Day. I wish I had seen it earlier!

Use Shed Doors for Storage Space
Last week Lifetimes Home Garden Guru Charlie Nardozzis Tip of the Week provided quick pointers of how to properly clean and store your garden tools for the winter. His tip reminded me of a handy idea I picked up while visiting BackYards Inc. a few weeks ago. (BackYards Inc. is the official outlet store for Lifetime Products with five locations in Utah.) Lifetimes plastic sheds come with two peg strips, which I installed on the shed walls. (If I recall, I think thats where the instruction photos show to install them, as well.) However, to maximize storage space, did you know you can also install the peg strips on the shed doors! Handy, huh? Are your peg strips already full? No problem! You can buy additional peg strips, as well as otherLifetime shed accessories like shelves, lights, shutters, and more at Buylifetime.com. An...
