New Lifetime Shed Has More Windows and Vertical Siding

vertical siding shed.jpgWe have been busy over the past year developing a new shed. The new Lifetime 8'x 10' shed capitalizes on the experience we have gained from our previous sheds and brings some great new features.

If you are familiar with our sheds, you will notice the overall look of this new shed is different. One of the most noticeable differences is the shed walls now have a vertical siding look.

Next difference? Windows!  We do extensive market research with customers and you told us you like windows. So, we listened to your feedback and added even more windows by putting some in our newly designed doors. Windows allow light into the shed and give it a nice look. The operable window in the sidewall allows airflow so if you are working in the shed you can stay cool.

Another difference in this new shed is the roof pitch is higher. This gives the shed a new look and allows for overhead storage space inside the shed.  We also have included a full-length roof ridgeline skylight which our customers also requested.

From a technical standpoint, we have updated how the shed goes together too. We added a new wall connection that makes the shed even more simple to put together, yet preserves the strength and integrity of the shed.

So, what do you think of our new design?  Leave us a comment and let us know.  Personally, I think it's pretty awesome. It has been fun to watch our engineers stretch as they try to improve on our line of sheds which have already proven very successful. We have pushed them to come up with something new, then something else new, then something else new ... I have wondered at what point I am going to walk into their offices and they say "STOP"! I am very proud of our engineering team and the great ideas that they continually come up with.

If you would like one of these new Lifetime sheds, visit your local BJ's Wholesale Clubs or Costco Canada (western region only) or purchase one online in the Lifetime Store.

Lifetime 65 gal composter very rugged. However, I wish they had a better "labeling system" for parts. They use the same 3 letter code for most parts making it difficult to tell difference in assembly.

I have seen nothing that tells you how to attach the shed floor nor suggestions for what kind of foundation is needed. I some ideas about the designing the foundation but the attaching the shed floor has me puzzled. We are Looking to buy the 11x13.5 shed (#6415). Thanks Michael Houser, P.E.

Hi Michael,

The link below will take you to our online instructions for model 6415. In the instructions you will find more information about building the shed foundation, and how the walls assemble.

Enjoy your new shed.

Yum! BBQ Rat!
Like most people, I enjoy firing up the BBQ grill to cook dinner outside. Im usually a big fan of steaks, marinated pork loins, and the occasional chicken breasts. Last week, however, I almost tried a new cut of meat RAT!! Ugh. My husband opened the lid to light the grill and, much to his surprise, a rat was scurrying around under the rack! Unfortunately, this isnt our first rat encounter. About a month ago, I was in our backyard and saw two rats run across our wooden fence. I FREAKED! We just had friends in a subdivision a few miles down the road who had one rat do $8,000 damage to their new house when a rat in their attic chewed through AC lines! And now, the nasty little vermin are daring to venture into my yard. Let me make it clear I dont do RODENTS!! I immediately called our exterminator who set some bait boxes by the...
We’re on Twitter! (what does that mean?)
So this might not be news for many of you, were on Twitter! If you already know what Twitter is you can follow us over there: @LifetimeJoe and @Lifetime365. For those of you who dont know what Twitter is: In short, Twitter lets you answer the question what are you doing? and share it with your friends. Real life happens between blog posts and email. Twitter is a social media network that lets its users post short messages (up to 140 characters). You can also post your own tweets for your own tweeps to read. But this isnt an advertisement for Twitter. What wed like you to know is that were on Twitter, were posting, and were listening! What does this mean to yo...
New Basketball Height Adjustment Mechanisms
Since our beginning in 1986, Lifetime has revolutionized the sporting goods industry by inventing the first basketball system that could be adjusted in seconds. Today, Lifetime is the world leading manufacturer of residential basketball systems and continues to bring new, innovative products to the market. We are excited to tell you about two new height adjustment mechanisms for our basketball systems. The first is the Front Adjust. As its name suggests, this adjustment mechanism allows you to adjust the height of your basketball pole from the front of the basketball system, instead of from behind. With this convenient new location, there is no need to walk around to the back of the system, and it is easier for people of all ages and heights to adjust their basketball hoop. It has a two-handed grip that easily allows you to ...
