Lifetime Products on Your Smartphone or Tablet

iphone screenshot.JPGBack when I was a kid, my Dad asked me to look at some computer specs and "pick the one we wanted". He was a very frugal man and told me to make sure it would "last me though college". That was probably a bit naive, but neither of us knew any better. Today I have a "computer" with a much faster processor, more RAM, more storage space, and a significantly faster Internet connection -- it fits in my pocket and I call it a "smartphone".

It really is amazing, the technology that we take for granted. Here at Lifetime Products, we've always used technology to solve problems -- not just because it's "cool" -- though a lot of it is really, really cool! Such is the case with smartphones and tablets!

home.jpgIf you have an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, or Windows Phone 7 we have an app for you! Our apps put our information about all our products literally at your fingertips. Since the beginning, our iOS app has let you carry that information with you without requiring an Internet connection. That can come in handy if your tablet only has WiFi in it and you're away from a hotspot, or when you're inside one of those big box stores and your 3G/4G signal can't get through all the concrete and metal around you. Of course, when you are connected, we take the opportunity to update our product catalog so you'll always have the latest information right where you need it.

Our Windows Phone 7 app, however, had to be connected to the 'net to get product details. It was a technological limitation at the time. Now, with Windows Phone 7.5, that limitation has been lifted and we've been updating our app to take advantage of the new off-line capabilities!

If you have a Windows Phone you can grab the new version from the Windows Marketplace.

What about the web you ask?  The Lifetime Store online (www.buylifetime.com) is now mobile-friendly! Yes, you can now buy our products right from your phone or tablet, anywhere that you have an Internet connection -- yes, even there.

How long at Lifetime Products: Since November 2005

Background: You’ve always wanted to know who on earth Joe is, and even if you haven't we're going to tell you anyway! He was born in Weber County, Utah, USA. He is a descendant of Paiute (Native American) heritage and is a member of the Kanosh (Utah) Band. He is a member of various community, church, and civic organizations, and is actively involved with local, state, and national government. He is concerned with customer service and is striving to educate businesses concerning proper “consumer etiquette”. Joe is a Thawte Web of Trust Notary and is involved with seamless Digital Signatures utilizing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and similar technologies. He is a husband and father. He rides his recumbent bicycle to work every day. He enjoys gardening, houseplants, mobile computing, camping, authoring web sites, working in the yard, and spending time with his family. How does he do it all? We really don’t have the foggiest. Some have suspected he’s discovered the secrets of cold fusion, while others think he may be an android. We may never know for certain.

You made a right step having created a mobile app. Mobile devices are more and more popular nowadays so it makes sense to create mobile apps so that people can reach you from their mobile devices.

Memory of a Lifetime
The first time that I played basketball, or at least tried to, it was on a piece of plywood bolted above a neighbor's garage back in the mid 80's. I say "tried", because the ball never came remotely close to the rim - although it did hit the family station wagon multiple times. That's what makes my first encounter with Lifetime so memorable. It was in my best friend's driveway in the spring of 1990 - I was 12. I helped him unpack the shiny white poles for his new basketball hoop, while he picked an ideal spot for it in the corner of his driveway. With shovel and tools in hand, we began to install what would turn out to be the hub of recreation for us and several friends over the next half decade. While I didn't know then who Lifetime was as a company, I quickly became familiar with the advantage of their product. After the ...
Our Chinese New Year Celebration
Occasionally our family likes to take a time out from our usual dinner routine and enjoy something unique from a culture different than ours. Last week, since Chinese New Year was in full swing, we thought it would be a great opportunity to enjoy a part of the rich Chinese culture. Oftentimes we celebrate with extended family or a couple of families in our neighborhood but this year we decided to try something a little more trouble-free and just celebrated with our little family. We started by bringing one of our Lifetime 6 foot folding banquet tables up from the basement and placing it (with the legs unfolded) on a couple of short storage bins. This allowed the table to sit about 18 inches from the ground. Although sitting on the floor isnt necessarily a dining practice in the Chinese culture, some close friends started doing...
Pro Basketball in your Backyard
Okay, so the big boys from the pros wont actually be in your backyard, but you can deck your yard out to look every bit as professional. First off youre going to want to pick up a 98874 Mammoth In-Ground Basketball System from BuyLifetime.com. This setup is huge (72-inches) and professional quality just like youve likely seen in High Schools, Colleges, and even some professional sports teams. Once youve got your 98874 Mammoth you need to decide whether or not you you want a half-court or full- court game. The obvious answer if you want a full-court experience is to buy two 98874 Mammoth systems. That may not be an option for you, so why not consider a portable basketball system? With a portable basketball system you can wheel it to where the action is at game time, then wheel it away for storage after the final w...
