2011 Highlights: Lifetime Named Greatest Contributor

greatest contributor.JPGWhat a great way to end 2011!  A few weeks ago, Lifetime received the Greatest Contributor Award during the third annual "Entrepreneur Excellence" awards banquet hosted by the Northfront Entrepreneur Alliance.  Obviously, we are thrilled with this honor!  This prestigious award is given to a company that has contributed heavily to expanding and growing entrepreneurial activity in Northern Utah.  According to the Northfront Entrepreneur Alliance, Lifetime was chosen for its large economic impact on Utah.

“Lifetime has demonstrated it is family-oriented and cares about its employees," said Northfront Entrepreneur Alliance Advisory Board Member and presenter of the award, Kent Sulser. “Lifetime has been adaptable and able to survive in many economic climates. Lifetime has shown innovation in its products and business practices, as well as having contributed strongly to the community through various activities. They are truly a great company, but equally important, they are great people.”

This award is a culmination and reflection of all of our many accomplishments from 2011.  As I sat down to write this blog post, I realized what an amazing 2011 year Lifetime has had.  Check out just a few of our many milestones, highlights, and accomplishments from 2011:

  • Celebrated our 25th corporate anniversary and our invention of the first quick to adjust basketball hoop
  • Introduced approximately 100 new product models
  • Acquired Emotion Kayaks
  • Added over 120 new USA retail accounts
  • Grew international sales by 18 percent
  • Added 27 new patents
  • Received tax incentive to expand in Utah from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development
  • Over 900 employees donated approximately 2,700 man-hours building a hiking trail and beautifying a park and cemetery in Utah
  • Six Lifetime engineers honored at Utah Genius Awards
  • Lifetime CFO Mark Whiting named CFO of the Year by Utah Business magazine
  • Named Greatest Contributor in Northern Utah by Northfront Entrepreneur Alliance

We think that's a pretty impressive list!  So, as we usher in a new year, here's to a wonderful 2011 and an even more amazing 2012!

Anatomy of a Shed
Saturday was a winterizing day for me. We got about eight inches of snow last weekend, so I figured I better take advantage of the beautiful fall day and get the shed cleaned out and then packed up with all of our patio playthings. As you can see from the photos, my shed is absolutely packed. I guess that's what a shed is supposed to look like, isn't it? I had a unique opportunity of being a part of the team thatdeveloped the shed- from start to finish. I remember when it came up as an idea for a new product, I remember reading through the miles and miles of research about it and I remember seeing the prototypes as they came and went. I know more about these sheds than any other Lifetime product, and I am exceedingly proud of them. I also bought one of the first sheds we produced. According to the serial numbers and julian ...
Ten Upcoming Reasons to Buy A Lifetime Table Now
Ok, so maybe this title has a slight arrogant flare. But, just hear me out. I honestly have your best interest in mind and Im only trying to help you get the most bang for your buck. The idea for this post popped into my head after talking to my neighbor who just bought a Lifetime table. Shed been wanting to buy a Lifetime table for a while, but just never got around to it. (Sound familiar?) Her friend was having a 40th birthday party and asked if our neighbor had a folding table she could borrow for the party. Since my neighbor had been wanting to get one for her monthly Girl Scouts meetings and her upcoming garage sale, she went out that day and bought a 6 fold-in-half Lifetime table and then immediately loaned it to her friend for the birthday party. Being able to clearly see how should would use the table for multiple f...
