Happy (Early) Father's Day to Our Shed Giveaway Winner!

7x7shed.jpgThanks to everyone who entered this month's giveaway to try and win the Lifetime 7'x7' Shed for their Dad for Father's Day.  We received some very touching stories about how much your Dads mean to you and why you wanted to win this shed for Dad.   But, in the end, the winner picked by random.org was Sonya R. of Knoxville, TX.  Congrats, Sonya.  We hope your husband enjoys this year's Father's Day present for years to come!

We also heard some great feedback about which features you liked best about this relatively-new Lifetime 7'x7' Shed.  By far (and not surprisingly), the feature most of you liked the best was the full-length roof skylight.  That's a pretty awesome addition to a shed!  Other popular answers were the shatterproof windows that open and the customizable shelving.

If you fell in love with this shed but weren't the lucky winner, don't worry - you can purchase this shed in our Lifetime Store online.  And, they actually have a shed sale going on now until June 30 -  receive a free solar shed light (a $50 value) with any shed purchase!  Simply enter freelight when you check out.  And, if the 7'x7' shed isn't the right size for you, be sure to check out our full line of storage buildings…we have some that are smaller and lots that are bigger - even big enough to fit a car inside!

If you still want to try and win Dad a Father's Day present, we have two more giveaways going on right now!  To celebrate our 25th anniversary, we're giving away 25 Lifetime Portable Basketball Hoops until the end of 2011.  Visit go.lifetime.com/25-hoops to enter.  And, if you visit lifeisasandcastle.blogspot.com before June 19,  you can enter to win a Lifetime 6' Folding Picnic Table - perfect for summer picnics, July 4th BBQs, and family reunions.  Good luck!

A 50 Year Achievement
The Mercedes-Benz dealership in Salt Lake City celebrated its fifty year anniversary earlier this month. My wife, Jenny was asked to assist with this event. The celebration was an important event for not only the local dealership, but to Mercedes-Benz as well.In the automobile business it is uncommon for one dealership with the original franchise owner to stay in business with the same car franchise for over fifty years. The award presentation featured a beautifully designed trophy, sculpted with metal in the form of a classic Mercedes-Benz automobile. After the presentation, a lunch was served for those in attendance. Jenny couldnt help but notice that the tables and chairs that were set up for the event were of course made by Lifetime. They used Lifetime 6 foot banquet tables covered with white linens and floral arrangeme...
Basketball Polar Bear
I took a trip to San Diego this past weekend for theInternational PRSA conference.Awesome information and great speakers. But, four daysofworkshops, exhibitions, and keynote speakers-- needless to say, it's healthy to take a break! What better place to dojust thatthan the San Diego Zoo!For me, the highlight of the zoo is watching the polar bears. I was so excited to get to the exhibit, only to find him spread out on his belly, fast asleep. After a few minutes of debatingwether or notI should move on,suddenly, heopened his eyes and lumbered over to the pool. Kids and adults alike ran toward the glass, watching with excitement. This polar bear knew exactly what he wanted to do. He swam to one side of the water, grabbed his ball withone humongous paw, and swamto the other side right in front of agroup of children. What happ...
How Do You Move A 500lb Bouncy Castle?
A few weeks ago my little girl turned 4 years old. We celebrated with a Tinkerbell themed party at our house. The birthday girl loved the Tinkerbell cake I made, and the other party girls were thrilled with the handmade Tinkerbell fairy skirts I hid in the trees for them and the sparkle pixie dust I sprayed on each of them. But, despite my best fairy efforts, the true hit of the party was the bouncy castlethat my husband decided we "absolutely needed" to rent at very the last minute.Sigh.He was right, the kids (and some adults) jumped non-stop. If you've never rented a bouncy castle, these things are huge and heavy! When they loaded it into our truck at the rental facility, they actually used a forklift. Unfortunately, we don't have the luxury of a forklift at our house. So, how in the world did we manage to get the 500lb def...
