The Office Basketball Shot: Catch You on the Flippity Flip!

The Office Basketball Shot: Catch You on the Flippity Flip!

Like 7,742,484 other people, I follow NBC's The Office on Facebook and I'm a big fan of the show. Last night's tear-jerker was a great way to say goodbye to the Michael Scott we have come to love, and begin to close their seventh season.

Michael-scott-hoop.jpgAs part of the usual Thursday night ritual, I was curled up on the couch with a bowl of dinner and my favorite throw. I think I speak for all "Office Fans" at Lifetime when I say I was SO EXCITED to see Michael Scott missing basketball shots on a Lifetime basketball hoop!

As Steve Carrell tossed the ball behind his shoulder, saying "catch you guys on the flippity flip!" he constantly shot toward a portable Lifetime basketball hoop... until he finally made it. It must have been a fun shot to produce, it looks like they used the adjustable height feature and lowered the hoop to the lowest setting, and Michael Scott threw the ball behind his back saying "catch you on the flippity flip!". If you watch it again, you'll notice some sweat on Carrell's face-- it may have been a lot of takes before he made the shot. But can you blame him? How many shots would it take you?

If you want to find out, or just like free stuff, good news! You can enter to win an adjustable height Lifetime Basketball Hoop just like the one Michael used in our 25 Hoops for 25 Years giveaway!

Pro Basketball in your Backyard
Okay, so the big boys from the pros wont actually be in your backyard, but you can deck your yard out to look every bit as professional. First off youre going to want to pick up a 98874 Mammoth In-Ground Basketball System from BuyLifetime.com. This setup is huge (72-inches) and professional quality just like youve likely seen in High Schools, Colleges, and even some professional sports teams. Once youve got your 98874 Mammoth you need to decide whether or not you you want a half-court or full- court game. The obvious answer if you want a full-court experience is to buy two 98874 Mammoth systems. That may not be an option for you, so why not consider a portable basketball system? With a portable basketball system you can wheel it to where the action is at game time, then wheel it away for storage after the final w...
Tetherball Comes Around Again - In a New Portable Version
My son is in kindergarten this year and I love hearing what fun things he does in school each day since its all so new to him. Last week he came home and couldnt wait to tell me about gym class - they had played tetherball! Wow, does that bring back some memories. Apparently, Im not the only one that remembers standing in line during school recess waiting for my turn to take the big swing. A few weeks ago, one of the popular Twitter topics was #whenwewereyoung. (BTW, you can follow us on Twitter @Lifetime 365!) I was surprised to read how many people tweeted about tetherball memories! Some fond, some not so fond...guess it depends on if they were hit by the ball!?! Well, good news! Tetherball is no longer limited to school playgrounds! Lifetime has made a new portable tetherball you can have in your own backyard or drivew...
Think Inside the Box
We love getting feedback from our customers. We have had all kinds of interesting topics sent in to us. This one was no exception. Although we cant officially promote use of our products for anything other than their intended use, I thought this one was pretty clever. Stan wrote in telling us how much he loves his Lifetime Outdoor StorageBox. Stan likes to cook meat using a smoker and needed a place to store his smoker on his deck and protect it from the elements. He devised a cleaver way to do this with his Lifetime Storage Box. First, he secured the box standing on one end. Then, he built a sliding shelf in it. Now, whenever he wants to smoke his meat he opens the door of the box and slides out the shelf. Voila, the smoker is ready to go. When he is done with it, and the smoker has cooled, he slides it back into the box sh...
