Video Review of Lifetime Raised Garden Kit

A few months ago we told you about our newest lawn and garden product - the Lifetime Raised Garden Kits.   We are thrilled to tell you they are quickly becoming a very popular product!  These 4'x4' kits provide a full garden setup in less than one hour of easy do-it-yourself assembly with no tools required.

But, a lot of you may still be wondering if they are really that easy to assemble and if they really work.  Well, wonder no more!  If you're a loyal reader of this blog, you may be familiar with our fellow Geekstyle blogger, Joe.  It turns out that not only does Joe get geeky with techy things, but he also gets geeky about going green, too!

A few weeks ago, we gave Joe a Lifetime Raised Garden Kit to review and use on his personal green/gardening website called PathToGreenerLiving.com.  He created a detailed and in-depth video about the product, how to assemble it, and how to use it.  (He also gives you some handy tips and ideas for how to use the product, like using the cardboard from the Raised Garden Kit package as a ground barrier and composting the other packaging items.)

Even though Joe works for Lifetime, he's still going to share an honest review about what he likes and doesn't like about the product, and what works and doesn't work.  In fact, he's also going to do something really cool and grow potatoes in a Lifetime Raised Garden Kit with the early enclosure.  At the same time, he's also going to plant more potatoes in his wooden raised garden bed to see which garden grows faster and better.  So, we'll keep checking back with Joe over the next few months and share his future videos to let you know how his experiment is coming along.  We're anxious to see, as well!

If you have any questions for Joe about his experience or you want to share your own experiences about the Lifetime Raised Garden Kit, please leave us a comment below.

Haul out the yard cart, spring has sprung
Ive written about the LifetimeWheelbarrow in a couple of my posts (here and here), it really is a wonderful thing. Some readers have asked me if Lifetime has anything suited for larger projects or larger properties where a wheelbarrow (though effective) is inefficient. The answer is a wholehearted YES! Lifetime makes a small utility trailer and yard cart that works both as a cart and a trailer that you can pull behind an ATV or riding mower. The Yard Carts heavy-duty, extra-large tub can hold 10-cubic feet, is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic materials, and can haul up to 650 pounds. Lets see your old wheelbarrow do that! Now available with FREE SHIPPING from BuyLifetime.com.
Fall Yard Sale Tips
Ive been to a lot of yard sales. At a recent one, I bought a 1921 replica Coca-Cola serving tray and made arrangements with a seller to pick up a refinished oak tool chest that I plan to use as a coffee table. After years of experience buying and selling, Ive also brought home what I call my three Ps for a successful yard sale: Planning, Presentation, and Pricing. Planning is crucial. If you sell it, they will come, right? Wrong. Run a classified ad in your local newspaper. Be sure to include popular and big-ticket items as well as the date, time, and location of your sale. Post a free listing at Craigslist.org also. Then make signs to put up at the nearest major intersections and other strategic spots to direct people to your sale. (Check with your local municipality or homeowners association first to make sure its okay to...
Win a Lifetime Round Picnic Table for Your Labor Day BBQ!
This giveaway has ended.Sadly, summer is almost over and Labor Day is just around the corner. Labor Day is officially a federal holiday and a day of rest created to recognize our country's workers. But, it seems it is more often recognized as a day to signify the last day of summer with one last hooroh. So, since most Labor Day celebrations traditionally include a picnic or BBQ, this month we're going to give away a Lifetime 44-Inch Round Picnic Table! The Lifetime 44-Inch Round Picnic Table offers a unique twist to the standard picnic table. And, yes, I mean that literally because the benches on this table twist, or rather swing, outward for easy seating access for up to six adults! This open frame design provides a stylish look and increases legroom. It also allows for wheelchair accessibility. Like all Lifetime tables, th...
