We're Celebrating 25 Years!

Lifetime_25_years.jpgPut on your party hat, pull out the noisemakers, and get ready to celebrate - Lifetime Products is turning 25!

That's right, in March of 1986, Lifetime Products Inc. was founded in Clearfield, Utah with just 25 employees and one product category.  Today, we have more than 1,500 employees worldwide and more than 200 products sold in 58 countries!

In addition to commemorating our corporate anniversary, we're also celebrating that it's been 25 years since Lifetime invented the first residential basketball hoop that could be adjusted in just seconds. Yes, you read right… we invented the very first one. It was called the Quick Adjust, and could be adjusted using a broom handle. Pretty cool, huh? This revolutionary and convenient invention has truly transformed the game of basketball by allowing people of all ages and skill to play in their very own driveway. That's what started it all, and lead Lifetime down a path of innovation in so many home and outdoor products since.quick-adjust-instructions.jpg

To mark this milestone event, we've unveiled our silver anniversary logo. That's just the start of more exciting things to come.  There will be lots more "hoop-la" throughout the year that we'll be sharing with you! I can't give away all of our secrets just yet…. but what would kind of birthday would it be without an official party and giveaways for our guests? So, stay tuned to hear what fun we have in store for you, and if you have any ideas to ramp up the fun, please let us know!

Addicted to Chalkboard Paint
Irecently came across this article on Kasi Good's blog, and liked it so much,I asked if we could share it here! So here it is, a cool andfunctionalmakeover for your Lifetime Table: "I am addicted to chalkboard paint... It's true. We had the kids computer and art stuff on this hideous lifetime table. It was covered in paint, since I routinely use it for painting furniture or picture frames or whatever else I decide to slather paint on. I decided it couldn't get any worse, so I rolled on a couple coats of black chalkboard paint! Now, I may as well be honest and tell you that it's not going to last forever. I can envision one of them realizing that if they try hard enough they can scratch the paint off and that will be the end of it. But it will be fun while it lasts. EDIT: I ended up stripping off the paint so that I could...
Enjoy the Game at YOUR Level!
In 1986, Lifetime Products introduced and patented the first complete basketball system that could be adjusted in just seconds. Over the years, Lifetime has revolutionized the basketball industry and has literally changed the game to fit everyones level. As Im sure many of you are aware, there is a wide variety of height adjustment mechanisms available, and sometimes it can be overwhelming knowing the differences between them all! Here is a list of some of Lifetimes main height adjustments to help you choose what might work best for you. Telescoping Height Adjustment The telescoping height adjustment allows you to raise and lower the basketball hoop without the use of any tools. You can easily adjust the rim height from 7.5 to 10 feet, in 6-inch increments. Quick Adjust The Quick Adjust is the original broomstick hei...
Winter Kayak Storage Tips
Its that time of year again for a lot of us. Time to store that kayak away for the cold cold winter. We are often asked about how to store a kayak while it is not being used, especially during the chilly winter months. So today, I am here to offer up some winter kayak advice! First piece of advice, kayaks are not for sledding! They go fast but they dont like the cold, so keep them off of the snow! Ok, now for the real tips. As always, make sure you wash your kayak after use. This is especially important when you will be putting it into storage for several months. Mild dish soap and water works just fine, no need for fancy cleaners. Make sure you remove sand and dirt, even from those little crevices. And, just think about how nice it will be to pull this baby out in the spring for its maiden run when it is so squeaky clean! ...
