Winter Picnic Fun Playing Fox and Geese
My husband, kids, and I traveled from Texas to my parents' house in Ohio for Christmas. In addition to spending quality time with the cousins and grandparents, the trip was extra special for my kids since it was the first time my daughter was able to see snow (and the first time my son really remembers seeing it)! The trip provided all the magic for our kids that you envision with first-time snow fun including snow angels, sledding, tubing, ice skating, snowball fights, and snowmen. One night, we surprised them with a unique winter treat of roasting hotdogs and s'mores over a campfire on the ice! My parents have a large wetlands area on their farm land perfect for ice skating. So, we invited the cousins and some neighbor kids over for our fun winter evening. We took bales of hay and some folding camping chairs for seating ar...
Introducing the New Lifetime Water Sports Logo!
Whether youre new to kayaking or youre a seasoned veteran, you know one thing about the sport of paddling - its fun! As Lifetime Products grows as a company and we, the water sports division, grow as a category, we want to make sure we make our mark in the paddlesports industry. The water sports community is fun, energetic, and unique, we wanted a logo that represented the quality Lifetime is known for, yet exhibited the upbeat environment found throughout the kayaking industry. And here you go! The new Lifetime watersports logo is an abstract representation of a kayak in water with elements of fun and adventure. Our lighter colored kayaks - yellow, orange and...
Compost your clippings! Garbage Stinks. Compost Doesn’t.
I had the very unpleasant experience recently of dumping excess lawn clippings directly into my garbage can. The can set out in the sun for a few days before I brought it into the garage. A few days later, WHOA! The can smelled like a skunk had stepped in dog doo-doo, rolled around in raw sewage, and then died in there. I was reminded once again, that lawn clippings should not go directly into the garbage can! I have a composter and do a fair amount of composting. To which, I add lawn clippings when I have brown material to balance it out. The ratio is 1 part green: 20 parts brown. I am often asked by people who dont compost if the compost stinks. The answer is no. That sounds strange because of the waste product that goes into making good compost, but its true. If the proportions of green and b...
