Lifetime Receives Utah Genius Award

I had the privilege of attending the Utah Genius Award luncheon this past week, on behalf of Lifetime, as we were awarded one of Utah’s Top 20 companies with the most patents issued in 2009! The awards honor people, cities and organizations with the most patents or trademarks throughout the past year.

This past year, Lifetime received 15 new patents! These patents cover a variety of our tables and our fold-up utility trailer. The patents join Lifetime's more than 475 existing patents, which protect our innovations and intellectual properties that our employees worked so hard to invent and design.

A crowd of around 500 people gathered Wednesday at Salt Lake’s Little America Hotel for this annual event. Governor Gary Herbert opened the awards luncheon with Doug Fabrizio of KUER radio as the keynote speaker. A product reception took place prior to the luncheon with many of the patented products on display.

Randall Bateman, Utah Genius founder and president of Bateman IP Law Group, mentioned Lifetime in a recent Deseret News article on Thursday speaking about companies creating new products in terms of the overall economy. He said, “It helps us because these people are creating new products that are going to sell. They’re creating new technologies, everything from what L-3 is developing  that’s being used in Afghanistan to Lifetime Products doing a new folding table that’s going to be used all over the country.”

Kudos and thank you to all of our employees who help invent and design our products, some of which include Dave Winter, Jacob Kearl, Curt Nye, Mitch Johnson and Brandon Smith and many more we wish we could mention! We received this award because of your hard work.  Lifetime is very excited to receive this award and we will strive to keep innovating and patenting even more new products.

Like Legwarmers and Mariah Carey, Recession Gardens Are Making A Comeback
I first learned about victory gardens at a young age, thanks to the stories I read about Molly McIntire, a fictional character who grew up during World War II. Molly and her family grew their own vegetables since crops grown by farmers were needed for the American troops. Well, once the war ended, victory gardens took a back seat to the fluorescent lights of the grocery superstore. With our nations current financial situation though, Im not surprised to see victory gardensor recession gardens, as theyre known these daysmaking a comeback.I recently read that an estimated 43 million American households will be planting their own recession gardens this year. Forty-three million! It just goes to show that lots of people across the nation are catching on to this trendand with savings of up to $5,000 on groceries a year, no wonder ...
How to Use a Lifetime Fold-In-Half Table
One of the most innovative products that Lifetime makes is the Fold-In-Half table. Our Fold-In-Half tables come in a variety of sizes and shapes ranging from square and round tables to 4-foot, 6-foot, and even 8-foot banquet tables. This unique design allows for easy carrying, transporting, and storage. However, because of this innovative design, you may have questions on how to properly fold and unfold your table. If so, here are a few tips and an instructional video to help you use your table. Lifetime fold-in-half tables have two folding mechanisms a locking clip and an automatic locking system. To unfold a Lifetime fold-in-half table with a locking clip, locate the molded hand slot where the ends of the table are, and pull open the table. Because of the durable design to keep the table securely closed, it may require e...
