Impromptu Kids' Picnic Table

Impromptu Kids' Picnic Table

I know, I know.  You're probably getting tired of hearing about my Lifetime Spring Break stories.  But, I can't help it!  There were just too many to share.  But, I promise, this is my last least for Spring Break 2009.  :)

The weather during Spring Break was absolutely gorgeous.  We spent practically every waking minute outside.  So, it was no surprise that my kids wanted to eat lunch outside on the little tiny condo balcony one day.  (And, I do mean tiny!)

At home, my kids eat outside quite often on their own little kids' picnic table.  But, the only patio furniture at the condo were tall, bar-height chairs designed so you could see over the railing to view the ocean...not exactly conducive for short, fidgety kids.  So, we had to improvise.  Sure, we could have just let them eat on a blanket on the ground, but they wanted a table.  Never fear, Grandma (or Mammy, as my kids call her) to the rescue! My Mom pulled out her Lifetime Personal Table and set it at the lowest height.  (Oh, I forgot to mention, she packed that table, TOO!) Voila!  We didn't have any kid-size chairs, so my daughter simply stood to eat and my son ate on his knees. It certainly wasn't ideal for every meal, but it did make for a fun lunch treat one day.

Aaah, basking in the sun and watching the waves roll in while sipping a Capri Sun...doesn't get much better for a kid!

My favorite products from Lifetime- 4x2 Table, 30” Personal Table, Chair, Youth Kayak, and Wheelbarrow.  Although, our Shed and Yard Cart are pretty close favorites, too!

Wiggle Cars are fun! has generally sold only products manufactured by Lifetime Products, but Lifetime has always been about more than just tables, chairs, sheds and organization, and basketball hoops, Lifetime was founded on the principles of family fun and togetherness. So, in the tradition of family fun, now offers Wiggle Cars (some call them Wiggle Scooters or Coaster Cars). These little cars are entirely kid-powered, no batteries required. Simply hold onto the steering wheel and start twisting side-to-side. Buy a few and challenge the kids to a race. Available in blue and yellow. Unlike most scooters, these wiggle cars will work for small children (we recommend ages 3 and up), but older kids and even parents up to 230 pounds can jump on and enjoy. Oh, and like all products on, shipping is ...

Controlling Moisture While Composting
In most of the United States composting season is almost over -- or is it?Believeit or not, composting season just started! Just started you say? Yes! Okay, what do I mean by that? Well, think about it... the gardening season is winding down in my neck of the woods. All I've got left are cold-weather crops, and some unharvested potatoes, carrots, and red beets. We'll come back to those in a little bit. All the other plants -- the tomatoes, the potatoes, the herbs -- have wilted with the frost. There's a lot of dead material to compost as you clean out your garden and prepare it for winter. That's why I say it's just the beginning of the composting season -- but there's a catch and a few things to look out for. Composting, as you well know, takes a certain amount of heat. Winter, as you also know, is relatively cold -- there...
