Water Balloon Fun...1...2...3...Throw!
Summer is quickly winding down. But, thankfully, August is one of the hottest months so there are still plenty of days left to squeeze in some last minute authentic summer fun. Here in Texas, its been crazy hot. Ok, insanely hot something unbelievable like 35 days over 100 degrees before August even started! I was tired of simply heading to the pool or waterpark to stay cool, so the other day I surprised my kids with some good ol fashioned water balloons. Sure, it took twice as long to fill them up as it did to throw them, but it was worth it to see the smiles on their faces and hear their giggles. My son had fun trying to throw them at me, while my daughter just liked dropping them on the grass and watching them pop. I grew up playing with water balloons by having a simple water balloon toss contest. However, my neighbor...
Tetherball or Soccer Goal? Tell Us What to Giveaway!
Summer is winding done and with the cooler temps on their way, it's the perfect time for kids to head outside for some fun activities. So, for this month's giveaway, we want to offer a product that's sure to be an outdoor hit and one the whole family can get a kick out of. Hee, hee. (Sorry about the pun.) The problem is, I'm tossing around two great ideas for product giveaways and I just can't decide which one to serve to you. (Yep, more puns). So, YOU get to help me decide! The Lifetime Portable Tetherball System brings the childhood schoolyard game home to your backyard. The system is designed with a convenient portable base, similar to our portable basketball systems. Just fill the base with sand or w...
Sizing Up a Lifetime Manta Kayak
A few weeks ago, I shared with you some things I learned when registering my new Lifetime Manta Kayak, and promised I would share a review with you soon of my experience using the tandem kayak. So, today is the day. First, a little info about my kayaking background. Not much to tell really. I'll be honest; I've only done it a few times. I've paddled around a lake and played kayakfootball on the sit-on-top Lifetime Daylite and Calypso kayaks, and I have paddled on a lake and several miles on a river in a Swifty Islander sit-inside kayak. So, in my mind, I was expecting the tandem Lifetime Manta Kayak to be similar in size to some of the previous individual kayaks I have paddled. But, my first impression of the Lifetime Manta Kayak? "Whoa, this thing is big." Even though I have seen tons of pictures of Lifetime's tandem kayak...
