Happy Veteran's Day!

Happy Veteran's Day!

Happy Veteran's Day!

Happy Veteran’s Day!  As a kid, to me, this was just another day to get out of school.   But, now that I’m an adult and my husband is in the Air Force, the holiday obviously has a much greater meaning to me and I appreciate the significance behind this annual day of recognition.  With Veteran’s Day today, as well as election day last week, it’s seems only appropriate to show our American pride.

Did you know that ALL of Lifetime’s sheds are made right here in America and are backed by a 10-year warranty?  My Lifetime shed was delivered last week and one of the first things that caught my eye on the packaging was the American flag with “Made in the USA” printed under it.  (Stay tuned to future posts for my shed building progress and videos!)    Yep, made in the good ‘ole USA…. in the state of Utah to be exact.    That’s pretty cool, huh?

Lifetime Products is proudly headquartered in Clearfield, Utah. That’s where the owner started the company almost 25 years ago.  So, on this patriotic holiday, I thought I would enlighten you with a few more “proud to be an American” facts that should make you feel good about your purchase and proud to own a Lifetime Product:

  • ALL Lifetime sheds are made in the USA.
  • ALL Lifetime folding chairs are made in the USA.
  • ALL Lifetime trailers are ASSEMBLED in the USA.
  • ALL Lifetime yard carts are ASSEMBLED in the USA.
  • ALL Big Stuff (made by Lifetime) playsets are made in the USA.
  • 98% of Lifetime basketball products are made in the USA.

And, of course, manufacturing all of these products translates into jobs, jobs, jobs! Lifetime employs 1,550 people in Utah, and 2,200 worldwide!

Now that’s just good news!  I hope you enjoy and appreciate this important American holiday today.  And, to all of our soldiers who are protecting our country and our freedom (and those who have done so in the past), THANK YOU!

Winter Kayak Storage Tips
Its that time of year again for a lot of us. Time to store that kayak away for the cold cold winter. We are often asked about how to store a kayak while it is not being used, especially during the chilly winter months. So today, I am here to offer up some winter kayak advice! First piece of advice, kayaks are not for sledding! They go fast but they dont like the cold, so keep them off of the snow! Ok, now for the real tips. As always, make sure you wash your kayak after use. This is especially important when you will be putting it into storage for several months. Mild dish soap and water works just fine, no need for fancy cleaners. Make sure you remove sand and dirt, even from those little crevices. And, just think about how nice it will be to pull this baby out in the spring for its maiden run when it is so squeaky clean! ...
Compost your clippings! Garbage Stinks. Compost Doesn’t.
I had the very unpleasant experience recently of dumping excess lawn clippings directly into my garbage can. The can set out in the sun for a few days before I brought it into the garage. A few days later, WHOA! The can smelled like a skunk had stepped in dog doo-doo, rolled around in raw sewage, and then died in there. I was reminded once again, that lawn clippings should not go directly into the garbage can! I have a composter and do a fair amount of composting. To which, I add lawn clippings when I have brown material to balance it out. The ratio is 1 part green: 20 parts brown. I am often asked by people who dont compost if the compost stinks. The answer is no. That sounds strange because of the waste product that goes into making good compost, but its true. If the proportions of green and b...
