Wheelbarrow

A few weeks ago my little girl turned 4 years old. We celebrated with a Tinkerbell themed party at our house. The birthday girl loved the Tinkerbell cake I made, and the other party girls were thrilled with the handmade Tinkerbell fairy skirts I hid in the trees for them and the sparkle pixie dust I sprayed on each of them.  But, despite my best fairy efforts, the true hit of the party was the bouncy castle that my husband decided we "absolutely needed" to rent at very the last minute. Sigh. He was right, the kids (and some adults) jumped non-stop. If you've never rented a bouncy castle, these things are huge… and heavy!  When they loaded it into our truck at the rental facility, they actually used a forklift.  Unfortunately, we don't have the luxury of a forklift at our house. ... What better way to spend Earth Day than purchasing a wheelbarrow to tidy up your own personal environment? If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work, you'll be happy to hear that we're offering 10% off the Heavy-Duty Lifetime Wheelbarrow and the Lifetime Yard Cart at our online Lifetime Store.  Two wheels are better than one! Customers say they appreciate the easy manuverability, awesome balance, and tapered front. Read the reviews to see what else customers are ... More

Yesterday was a good day... I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed, and set out to assemble a shed with Lifetime’s Prototype Shop Specialists (who I call Product Assembly Wizards) in the Little America Hotel grand ballroom. After a few hours of drilling, tightening bolts, and hauling through the kitchen—oddly enough, the best path to the loading dock — we had our own little corner with a Lifetime shed, composter, wheelbarrow, and Personal Table for a drawing to win the products. You may wonder why a person would be so excited to do all this work. Well, besides the fact that I’m generally overly excited about most things I get to do, I was thrilled to see six of our engineers and Lifetime Products as a company honored at the 2011 Utah Genius awards program!   Including its engineers... With springtime upon us, everyone with a yard now has their mind set on spring clean-up, fresh planting, gardening, fertilizing, composting… the list seems almost endless.   BuyLifetime.com was excited to offer this as soon as the wheelbarrows came off the line, but the product beat the packaging! BuyLifetime.com offered the wheelbarrows in the bulk packaging (what I affectionately called the “neighborhood discount pack”), but most customers only need one or two of these wheelbarrows, not seven or eight. So, if you seen the Lifetime Wheelbarrow on BuyLifetime.com in the past, but didn’t want to get half-a-dozen or more of them, today you can buy just one! And, just like everything on BuyLifetime.com, the Lifetime Wheelbarrow is available with FREE SHIPPING, right to your door! More

I’ve written about the Lifetime Wheelbarrow in a couple of my posts (here and here), it really is a wonderful thing. Some readers have asked me if Lifetime has anything suited for larger projects or larger properties where a wheelbarrow (though effective) is inefficient. The answer is a wholehearted YES! Lifetime makes a small utility trailer and yard cart that works both as a cart and a trailer that you can pull behind an ATV or riding mower. The Yard Cart’s heavy-duty, extra-large tub can hold 10-cubic feet, is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic materials, and can haul up to 650 pounds. Let’s see your old wheelbarrow do that!         Now available with FREE SHIPPING from BuyLifetime.com. More

Look out the window, spring is here… time to get digging, planting, transplanting, and hauling… wait, hauling? Yup, you’re going to have to move all that compost, all those pavers and blocks, potted shrubs, soil, bags of fertilizer, mountains of mulch… the list goes on and on, but it all needs to be done, and let’s face it, packing it my hand just isn’t a viable option! That’s where wheelbarrows come in to play. Sometimes called a “garden cart” or “garden wagon”, a wheelbarrow fills a much needed role in any backyard or landscaping project. Wheelbarrows help carry more per load, and help carry even very heavy items. But that’s where traditional wheelbarrows fall short. Traditional wheelbarrows typically have one wheel at the front of the basket, leav... More

Anyone who’s done their share of yard work or gardening knows that short of a good, sharp shovel, nothing beats a good, strong wheel barrow. According to Wikipedia, wheelbarrows are “a small hand-propelled vehicle, usually with just one wheel, designed to be pushed and guided by a single person using two handles to the rear … . It is designed to distribute the weight of its load between the wheel and the operator so enabling the convenient carriage of heavier and bulkier loads than would be possible were the weight carried entirely by the operator.” The old design had one wheel up-front and an awkward “dump pivot” – both of which made the old models prone to tipping. Lifetime Products thought you’d suffered with the old kind of wheelbarrows long enough and set about revolut... More

It's time once again to celebrate our wonderous Earth. Though Earth Day began as a grass-roots movement 38 years ago to educate people about pollution, conservation and to draw the government's attention, it has changed over the years. Today, we all have concerns like climate change and diminishing resources fresh on our minds. It seems like everyone's making some small changes, or just being a little more aware. I've made a consious effort to buy more organic food, switching my light bulbs to compact florescents (CFLs), and turning off unused electronics. But I'd like to do more this Earth Day, so I've been searching for ideas. Here are some of the best one's I've found... a few of them utilize our Lifetime Products: 1- Plant a tree in your back yard: Besides being a fun activity for... More

Hobo Pies
One of my Dads traditions at the lake house is to build a campfire outside almost every night. My dad likes to eat popcorn around the fire, but when the grandkids visit, its time to break out the good ol traditional smores! After all, what kid can resist melted chocolate and gooey marshmallows smooshed between graham crackers? For a change of pace forthe kids campfiresweet treats, one night my sister-in-law introduced us all to Hobo Pies. If youve never had a Hobo Pie, youre in for, well, something different from smores. :) First of all, to make a Hobo Pie over a campfire, you need an iron pie maker, available in camping departments. Then, youll need bread and some fillings. In the tradition of pie, my sister-in-law brought apple pie filling and cherry pie filling. First, we lined up all of our ingredients on our Lifetime p...

Lifetime’s Community Service Gardening Project Yields Over 14,000 Pounds of Donated Produce
Man, how time flies! Its been almost six months since our annual service project with the Utah Botanical Center. If you arent aware, every year around one thousand Lifetime employees give back to the local community by participating in our community service project. Its something I look forward to each year and this year was no different; we helped clean and beautify the Utah State University Botanical Center in Kaysville, Utah. Ive had the chance to stop by a couple times since the service project in May and was amazed at how much we accomplished. I also spoke to Dave Anderson from the USU Botanical Center to get a quick update on our main project at the service project, the Food Bank Garden we planted. The garden is used to teach individuals about gardening and the harvested items are donated to the local Food Bank. Anders...
