If you're like me, the lights are up and the tree is decorated…but now I need to figure out what to put under the tree for everyone.  Sure, Dad can always use a new shirt and Mom can ooh-and-aah over the latest kitchen gadget, but sometimes it's a nice surprise to get them something totally unexpected. So, in case you are still struggling to come up with an out-of-the-ordinary gift idea, I've pulled together a few unique items from Lifetime Products that are sure to make Santa's elves  - and your family - smile. Kids          Portable Tetherball  SetYou know Lifetime makes basketball hoops, but did you know we also make a fun portable Tetherball Set, too?  The Lifetime Portable Tetherball system brings another childhood playground game to the convenie... The other day my family took advantage of the perfect outdoor Fall weather and we spent the morning riding bikes to the local library and school playground. While our kids were busy exploring the teeter-totters, swings, and playscapes, my husband and I happened to notice a few lonely, but well-used, tetherball poles. With just one silent look at each other, we both knew it was "game on". Now, don't ask me what I was thinking…I'm 5'6" and my husband is 6'4".  Obviously, I didn't really stand a chance.  But, the competitive side in me had to try.  I guess maybe I remember too vividly my elementary school days when I was always the unlucky kid to patiently wait my turn in line, only to have to play against the biggest kid in the class who could wind the ball around the pole in just one punch.  No line... Favorite Fall Foods…Mmmmm!
Tuesday night was my turn to host our Air Force squadrons monthly wives meeting. The evenings in Texas are just starting to cool down so I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to serve my favorite Fall foods - soup and pumpkin desserts! I didnt want to spend too much time and effort on decorating since the meetings are supposed to be simple. So, I planned to eat outside in the cool autumn air and allow Mother Nature to provide my dcor. Well, unfortunately, Mother Nature didnt exactly cooperate with her end of the dealapparently she thinks low 80s is ideal for Fall!? But, after the sun set, it did feel slightly brisk. I borrowed three of bales of straw from a friend to set around in the yard as easy Fall decorations and extra seating if needed. I used my patio table and chairs, a card table and chairs, and my Lifetime...
Celebrating Earth Day
Earth Day is one of those things Ilearned about in elementary school. I remember running home to tell my mom that each drop of water we waste actually becomes a gallon of wasted water for the earth!Like my mom reacted at the time, I now don't think that's true. Myfirst grade brainmust have exaggerated the concept. For this year'sEarth Day, I decided to volunteer at the local nature center's event, helping with a craft table for children making magazinebead necklaces. Lots of fun!Volunteers before me had made thousands of beads and even sorted them by color. Looking around, I spotted a couple Lifetime tables. I asked one of the vendors a little about her booth then let her know I work for the company who made her table. She immediatley beamed "I love this table!"and went on to say that she bought it for acertain purpouse but us...
Boy Earns Eagle Scout Building Lifetime Shed
Happy Birthday BSA! The Boy Scouts of America was incorporated and chartered by the United States Congress on February 8, 1910. That means this week, they are 101 years old! Last year, they reached a large milestone as they turned 100! In the summer of 2010, Lifetime received a phone call from a 14-year-old Scout named Mason. He was calling on behalf of the Spectrum program at the local Burton Elementary School in Layton, Utah (very close to Lifetimes headquarters). Spectrum is a program designed to provide activities for children who are academically gifted. Among their activities, they put on a play once a year, which we hear is a great performance. But he wasn't calling to talk just about the program; he was calling because the local Spectrum program had a problem that was putting their annual play in jeopardy. He had he...
