What is your favorite part of Thanksgiving? My wife’s favorite part is going shopping! I find more satisfaction in staying home, eating too much, and watching football, but, to each their own. I went one year with my wife and after I got beat by a bunch of spry and motivated ladies while trying to get some sheets, I decided to retire from Black Fridaying (is that even a word?). My goal is to help you know where you can find our products. With so many different retailers carrying our products, I wanted to help you wade through the mess. If you’re looking for a new basketball hoop, Sports Authority, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Big 5, and Walmart have hoops on sale. You can get a 50" Portable Basketball Hoop at Dick’s Sporting Goods. At Sports Authority, you can get a hoop ranging from one of our youth hoops... More

Spring is in the air―at least here in Utah. The neighborhood is slowly coming back to life as kids and their parents are reemerging from their indoor hibernation. Time to find the bicycle pump and rollerblade knee pads because, at last, the kids can go outside and play! With the comeback of Spring also comes a greater need for drivers to be aware of the little ones out and about. To this end, Lifetime is introducing a new product this season, the Child Alert sign. This unique sign is shaped like a small child chasing after a soccer ball. “Chucky,” as we affectionately refer to him, is bright construction orange and carries a sign that says “slow.” His base is made similar to the portable bases that Lifetime made famous with our basketball systems, and can be filled with water or sand for even more st... Recreational kayaking is a fun and safe way for the whole family to enjoy the outdoors.  Many people are a little apprehensive when they hear the word "kayaking."  They imagine people dropping off of 20 foot waterfalls and paddling through big wavy rapids.  But that isn’t the only way to kayak.  In fact, the largest segment of kayaking is within the recreational sector.  What is recreational kayaking?  Recreational kayaking refers to paddling on flat water lakes, bays, slow-moving calm river ways, and calm oceans.  No rapids involved!  Flat-water paddling is a safe way to enjoy the water. Another misconception about kayaking is the Eskimo roll, which is another aspect of kayaking that only applies to whitewater or sea kayaking.  Recreational kayaks are not meant to roll and ... More

However, as much as I love the games, an even better part of Football season is the food and good times to be had while tailgating! At Lifetime, we know how important this time of year is for so many people. And we’ve seen many times how having the right table can really make or break your event. So, before you run off to the game, be sure to check out Lifetime’s Tailgate Tables.   The great thing about our Tailgate Tables is that they are built specifically to enhance your tailgating experience. Another year of Outdoor Retailer (OR) has come and gone.  For those of you who don’t know what OR is, it is the largest outdoor industry trade show in the whole world!  It is held in our backyard in downtown Salt Lake City.   This year, we also had the industry Demo Day in our backyard as well because it was moved from Jordenelle Reservoir to Pineview Reservoir in Ogden Valley!  We spent all day on the beautiful banks of Pineview paddling and talking to folks from all over the world.  We were super busy and had tons of people stop by to give our boats a test run!  What a day! After Demo Day, the indoor show begins.  We spend months preparing and designing both our booth and new kayaks to unveil at the show.  This year we went all out, even more than we have in the past. ... These days, taking a family on a vacation is no easy feat.  Not financially and not logistically.  It requires money, planning, and time!  But it is totally worth it!  Times are changing and so are vacation options.  You don’t need to go to Disney Land to have a great family experience.  Why not plan a vacation around kayaking? Almost anywhere there is water, there is someone who rents kayaks.  But, if you have your own, that is great!  There are so many great paddling destinations in the United States it would take forever to list them all.  The best part about a kayaking vacation is that you often get to experience a new place or situation that so many others don’t get to!  Kayaking out to a secret cove, or down a calm moving river in a desolate canyon are all g... Father's Day is almost here.  If you’re like me, you are always rushing around trying to figure out what to do for Dad at the last minute.  For years I always based my Father’s Day gifts on two things, fish and sports.  My dad either gets the latest “Jets” (don’t hold it against him) football team sweatshirt or a nice wooden fish decoration to hang on the wall.  Since these were always my dad’s favorite activities, this always seemed like the best route, until he ran out of wall space for all those wooden fish decorations. I’m sure I’m not the only one at there who has a dad that loves fishing.  I mean loves it.  You know, the dad who gets up at 4am so he can get out on the water .  The dad who has more fishing rods than pairs of pants.  ... Memorial Day has past and summer’s had its unofficial start!  As the weather heats up and the kids finish up the school year, we are all in need of a vacation.  These days, taking that one big trip to Orlando or hopping on a  cruise to the islands can put a big hurting on the old wallet.   Many people are choosing smaller and more frequent vacations.  And lets be honest, who doesn’t want more vacations?  I know I do.  Here at Lifetime, we wonder, why can’t every weekend be a vacation?  Oh, but it can!! Having a few kayaks laying around for the family can make it easy, affordable and fun to stay closer to home this summer.  You can head to your local lake one weekend and the next weekend do a river float.  The options are endless!  You won’t b... Scrapbooks With A Click Of A Mouse
We headed up to Dallas this past weekend to visit my in-laws. My sister-in-law is a Director and Consultant for Creative Memories, a scrapbooking company. Personally, Ive always been anti-scrapbooking because I detest never-ending projects! Im a person that likes to see the fruits of my labor and I want to be able to relish in the feeling of accomplishment and productivity when I see a project completed. Plus, Im way too anal retentiveI hate cutting and gluing my pictures, I feel like Im ruining them. I also loathe messes so Id spend way more time cleaning up and organizing my supplies than working on my scrapbook! But, there is a new scrapbooking fad that is a little more up my allydigital scrapbooks! No fancy-schmancy paper, no glue or embellishments, no cutting pictures required. Apparently, its all the rage. My sister-in...
