The NBA Finals are in full swing. The showdown between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs has been going back and forth for four games now. Will the Big Three repeat their game-four performance or will San Antonio’s savvy veterans and young bench continue to cause problems for the Heat? Only three games left before basketball comes to a head. Even though the NBA season is ending, it doesn’t mean the basketball season has to end. One of my favorite pastimes were the summer night spent in the driveway playing basketball (way back then, we had a Lifetime Hoop!) with my brothers and friends. A lot of time was spent pretending to be one of the legendary players from the 80’s and 90’s: Bird, Magic, Jordan, Stockton, and Malone (let’s be honest, I have a little hometown bias on the last two). Wi... More

Father's Day is almost here.  If you’re like me, you are always rushing around trying to figure out what to do for Dad at the last minute.  For years I always based my Father’s Day gifts on two things, fish and sports.  My dad either gets the latest “Jets” (don’t hold it against him) football team sweatshirt or a nice wooden fish decoration to hang on the wall.  Since these were always my dad’s favorite activities, this always seemed like the best route, until he ran out of wall space for all those wooden fish decorations. I’m sure I’m not the only one at there who has a dad that loves fishing.  I mean loves it.  You know, the dad who gets up at 4am so he can get out on the water .  The dad who has more fishing rods than pairs of pants.  ... Memorial Day has past and summer’s had its unofficial start!  As the weather heats up and the kids finish up the school year, we are all in need of a vacation.  These days, taking that one big trip to Orlando or hopping on a  cruise to the islands can put a big hurting on the old wallet.   Many people are choosing smaller and more frequent vacations.  And lets be honest, who doesn’t want more vacations?  I know I do.  Here at Lifetime, we wonder, why can’t every weekend be a vacation?  Oh, but it can!! Having a few kayaks laying around for the family can make it easy, affordable and fun to stay closer to home this summer.  You can head to your local lake one weekend and the next weekend do a river float.  The options are endless!  You won’t b... What's in a name?
Interesting littlestory here. Irecently received this email from Joanne Nelson of Exeter, Rhode Island: I purchased a Lifetime Personal Table several years ago and I love it. I am a quilter and this little table goes with me when I go to classes because I can set my sewing machine on it and adjust the height to exactly what I need so it is ergonomically correct for my sitting position However... I recently brought my table to a quilting retreat to let a 84 yr old lady, who is tiny, borrow my table so she could sew comfortably for the 5 day retreat. She was so happy about the table that I wanted to buy one for her. I found one and brought it home only to be very disappointed in the redesign of it. My table has metal legs and they are secured into a metal frame work so the legs can't come out very easily by accident if the t...

Boy Earns Eagle Scout Building Lifetime Shed
Happy Birthday BSA! The Boy Scouts of America was incorporated and chartered by the United States Congress on February 8, 1910. That means this week, they are 101 years old! Last year, they reached a large milestone as they turned 100! In the summer of 2010, Lifetime received a phone call from a 14-year-old Scout named Mason. He was calling on behalf of the Spectrum program at the local Burton Elementary School in Layton, Utah (very close to Lifetimes headquarters). Spectrum is a program designed to provide activities for children who are academically gifted. Among their activities, they put on a play once a year, which we hear is a great performance. But he wasn't calling to talk just about the program; he was calling because the local Spectrum program had a problem that was putting their annual play in jeopardy. He had he...
