For most people, when they think about kayaking, they think of a day trip to the local lake.  Maybe a vacation day spent floating on the ocean, watching the birds and listening to the calm ocean ripples.  While these trips are great, with just a bit more effort, you can really turn a kayaking trip into a fun filled outdoor adventure. What better way to bond with your family or a group of friends then to be outside, away from all the electronic distractions, kayaking and camping in the wilderness.  There are several ways to enjoy a camping and kayak trip.  Some rivers flow through campgrounds, parks or national forest land allow camping right along the banks of the rivers.   This type of trip can be great for a weekend get-a-way.  Day one is spent paddling a few miles to ... So the first few weeks of Spring are fun to work in the yard…then, reality hits, and I remember how yard work can be a lot of hard work! One of my favorite products we sell is our Adirondack chair. This chair is perfect for chillin’ after pulling weeds and planting flowers. Made from Polystyrene – a big word for a type of plastic that is made to look and feel like wood – this chair is great looking! It is low to the ground and has a slight recline so it’s nice and comfortable. The wood-like material is stain resistant, and holds up well in the sun. It looks like wooden furniture, but you won’t have to stain it every year. You can find our Adirondack chairs at your local Costco. A word of caution…when you tell your spouse you’ll be out weeding, don’t let her find you s... More

This spring, our watersports department has done something we never have before!  We are coming out with a limited edition paddleboard. Sure, this will be the Freestyle XL board we all know and love but there is something that makes it special; its Purple!  Not only is this our first limited edition kayak or paddleboard, it is also our first purple one! In total, there will be 325 Purple Freestyle XL’s out there for the lucky few who can get there hands on one.  I am personally a huge fan of purple, and I think this board looks great.  It has all the great characteristics of our other color boards; stability, buoyancy, padding, bungee straps and two fins. The dark purple color really blends well with the black bungees and confetti white and black foam.  It really pops and looks incredibly styl... More

If you’re anything like me, then I’m sure by now you’re all spending these days fidgeting at work, eager to get home so you can don that familiar jersey and find your lucky spot on the sofa, just to ensure your team has all the superstitious advantage it can get. That’s right folks, it’s March Madness! Better stock the pantry, dust the television and ready your home for guests, because it’s the tournament we’ve all been waiting for. But now, with the Lifetime Personal Table, you can say goodbye to picking chips out of the couches and carpet. With its adjustable height and 30 inch tabletop, this table is the perfect way to display your snacks right in front of your seat – just try not to jump in excitement! Plus with its compact size and various uses, it probably won’t spe... More

One and Done. That's what is so exciting about March Madness. The performances you never forget are just that.  If you've watched even a minute of tournament basketball in your life, you have those memories. Often the Final Four Teams are not the best teams in America. But in my house, that's okay. Why? We tend to follow the Cinderella stories and rooting for the underdog has become a family tradition. The Wichita State Shockers are that team – stunning March and making it to Atlanta to play the #1 team in the tournament: Louisville. Will the clock turn midnight before Wichita State can finish their run? Who knows. But I know my family and I will be glued to the TV hoping for that Cinderella story to end happily ever after. Want to have your own Final Four fun? Check out our basketball page on Lifetime.com and p... More

Be one of the first 10 customers to purchase the new Lifetime Netball system on buylifetime.com and get 40% off the regular price! (One system per customer.)  Lifetime Products has added the unique game of Netball to its line up of basketball hoops so don't miss this introductory special. The Netball system is not like any other basketball hoop. It is designed with a portable 10 gallon base, a telescoping pole that adjusts from 7.5 to 10 ft, and a 15" rim, but unlike other basketball goals, it does not have a backboard. That makes it much more challenging to get the ball in the net!  The game of Netball was derived from early versions of basketball. Some of the differences between the rules of basketball and netball are: BBALL: 2 teams of 5 vs 5       NETBALL: 2 teams of 7 vs 7 BBALL... More

Today, here in Utah, it’s warm and sunny. Buds on my flowers and trees are starting to emerge. Snow is harder and harder to find. Dare we hope that Spring has arrived? I love being outside, and look forward to preparing the yard for summertime. Part of that preparation for me this year is getting a new table for the deck. Our previous table was given to us and we learned the hard way that it isn’t snow and water friendly.  Basically the table top is sitting in a heap of rubble on the deck.  My wife and I like to hide from the kids and have breakfast outside. So I think this year I am going to get the Lifetime Bistro Set. If you haven’t seen this yet, it’s pretty nice. Made from Polystyrene, which is a type of plastic that looks like wood, this table is definitely snow and water friendly. It... More

Pilots, NASCAR, and Tailgating?
So, my hubby Mike did something pretty cool last weekend. I think Ive mentioned before that he is an F-16 pilot in the Air Force. Right now he is stationed at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas as an Instructor Pilot for the T-38 jet. Anywaylast weekend he (and some other guys from the squadron) did the flyby for the Nationwide NASCAR Series Race up in Dallas. Thanks to the wonders of technology, I was able to pause live TV and snap this photo of his flyby as shown on ESPN.:) After doing the flyby, Mike and the other pilots were escorted into pit row to watch the race. Mike said it was a pretty cool experience being right down by the action. They met Jack Roush, owner of several NASCAR teams and fellow aviation fan, and they stood within arms reach of Kyle Busch during his celebration in victory lane. However, wha...

What is Blow Molding?
Blow molding. You hear us say it over-and-over again when we talk about our products. But, what does that really mean? In case you don't know, today I'll give you a quick explanation and show you a few photos to, hopefully, help you understand the process of blow molding a little better. Every plastic product that Lifetime makes starts as white plastic pellets, like in this picture. These pellets are hauled in on train cars to our factory. We usenearly 400train cars of pellets per year! The plastic pellets are then pumped to our outdoor silos and then to the building silos. (If you live near our factory in Utah, you may have noticed a new Lifetime logo towering in the skies. The logo is on our newest silo that stores these plastic pellets.) The plastic pellets are then heated by pressure and colored pellets are added at thi...
