Thanks to everyone who entered this month's giveaway to try and win the Lifetime 7'x7' Shed for their Dad for Father's Day.  We received some very touching stories about how much your Dads mean to you and why you wanted to win this shed for Dad.   But, in the end, the winner picked by random.org was Sonya R. of Knoxville, TX.  Congrats, Sonya.  We hope your husband enjoys this year's Father's Day present for years to come! We also heard some great feedback about which features you liked best about this relatively-new Lifetime 7'x7' Shed.  By far (and not surprisingly), the feature most of you liked the best was the full-length roof skylight.  That's a pretty awesome addition to a shed!  Other popular answers were the shatterproof windows that open and the customizable shelving. We have great news! Mark Whiting, chief financial officer of Lifetime Products Inc, was named a CFO of the Year in the June issue of Utah Business Magazine (read all about it). Whiting was recognized for his 22-year contribution in building a “recession-proof” company, and a company that has become an international player in the sporting goods and outdoor products industry. The first time you meet Mark Whiting, you are surprised by his genuine warmth. He laughs often, listens attentively, and usually refers to himself as a “bean-counter”. When asked about being nominated for the Utah Business CFO of the Year Award, he bursts into laughter (I experienced that one myself). Though he would not say he deserves this award, the growing numbers speak for themselves …... Last summer on this blog, we wrote about one of our newest products, the Lifetime Tru-Motion™ Cane.  Here at Lifetime, we predicted this cane's breakthrough design was going to change the way we all look at canes…. and we were right!  I'm thrilled to tell you that the Lifetime Tru-Motion™ Cane was named "Best New Product" by Drug Store News. The award was bestowed recently at ECRM's Home Health Care 2011 EPPS Show and is given in recognition of the best new product invention from the more than 50 suppliers at the event.  Obviously, we are excited that we have an award-winning product.  But, we are even more excited to know that this product is truly making a difference in people's lives.  Former American Medical Association President Dr. John C. Nelson even said, "The Lif... More

This giveaway has ended.  Wondering what to get dear old Dad for Father's Day?  (Yes, in case you haven't glanced at a calendar recently, Father's Day is just 11 days away… June 19.)  Last year, I wrote a blog post with some unique Lifetime product ideas to buy for Dad. (Which, I might add, is still a very useful list to read for ideas.)  But, this year, I figured rather than just giving you ideas for Dad, why not actually give you a gift for Dad?  And, if we're going to give away a gift Dad's are sure to love, we might as well make it one of our most popular items on every Dad's list…a shed! That's right, this month, one lucky winner will win a Lifetime 7'x7' shed to give to Dad.  Umm, can you say ultimate Dad's Day Gift?!  Seriously, what Dad doesn't dream of having hi... More

As consumers, we have become accustomed to looking for safety features when making important purchase decisions, especially when it comes to products like vehicles, power tools, and baby items.  But, did you know you should also look for safety features when buying a folding table, too?   In my past few blog posts, I've been diving into various topics that help you make more educated folding table purchases.  Unfortunately, probably the most overlooked features consumers consider when buying a folding table are safety features. The last thing you need is for your table to collapse while you are using it! So, what should you look for to ensure you are purchasing a safe table?  A secure locking mechanism for the table legs.  Now, the tricky part is that locking mechanisms will vary depending on t... You've probably already gotten this question... but how was your Memorial Day weekend? Ours was great! As you probably read in our recent post, once again Lifetime partnered with the Utah Military Families Foundation (UMFF) to celebrate Memorial Day with our annual "Salute Our Troops" event. We put on a big sale at our Lifetime Store in Riverdale, complete with a free-throw contest, free ice cream, and kids activities-- with the goal to donate 5% of all proceeds to the UMFF. It was a blast! We're excited to announce that we even surpassed last year's donation for this great organization, and raised $1,712! We are proud to have been able to contribute to a cause that helps military families in our own community.  Thank you to all veterans past and present who serve our countr... More

Recreational Kayaking is Fun and Safe For the Family
Recreational kayaking is a fun and safe way for the whole family to enjoy the outdoors. Many people are a little apprehensive when they hear the word "kayaking." They imagine people dropping off of 20 foot waterfalls and paddling through big wavy rapids. But that isnt the only way to kayak. In fact, the largest segment of kayaking is within the recreational sector. What is recreational kayaking? Recreational kayaking refers to paddling on flat water lakes, bays, slow-moving calm river ways, and calm oceans. No rapids involved! Flat-water paddling is a safe way to enjoy the water. Another misconception about kayaking is the Eskimo roll, which is another aspect of kayaking that only applies to whitewater or sea kayaking. Recreational kayaks are not meant to roll and they are not designed to keep you inside if you should flip y...
