Like 7,742,484 other people, I follow NBC's The Office on Facebook and I'm a big fan of the show. Last night's tear-jerker was a great way to say goodbye to the Michael Scott we have come to love, and begin to close their seventh season. As part of the usual Thursday night ritual, I was curled up on the couch with a bowl of dinner and my favorite throw. I think I speak for all "Office Fans" at Lifetime when I say I was SO EXCITED to see Michael Scott missing basketball shots on a Lifetime basketball hoop!   As Steve Carrell tossed the ball behind his shoulder, saying "catch you guys on the flippity flip!" he constantly shot toward a portable Lifetime basketball hoop... until he finally made it. It must have been a fun shot to produce, ... A few weeks ago my little girl turned 4 years old. We celebrated with a Tinkerbell themed party at our house. The birthday girl loved the Tinkerbell cake I made, and the other party girls were thrilled with the handmade Tinkerbell fairy skirts I hid in the trees for them and the sparkle pixie dust I sprayed on each of them.  But, despite my best fairy efforts, the true hit of the party was the bouncy castle that my husband decided we "absolutely needed" to rent at very the last minute. Sigh. He was right, the kids (and some adults) jumped non-stop. If you've never rented a bouncy castle, these things are huge… and heavy!  When they loaded it into our truck at the rental facility, they actually used a forklift.  Unfortunately, we don't have the luxury of a forklift at our house. ... A few weeks ago we unveiled our silver anniversary logo.  Lifetime Products and the first ever quickly adjustable basketball hoop are turning 25 this year… and it's time to celebrate! We have lots of fun things in store for you to create some "hoopla" around this milestone!  What better way to get this party started than by giving away 25 Lifetime Portable Basketball Hoops?  Wow, did I really just say that?  Yes!  25 hoops!  Giving them away…as in FREE! Lifetime Products patented the first quick to adjust basketball hoop in 1986.  It may be a simple idea, but this invention revolutionized the residential basketball hoop industry because it allowed people of all ages, heights, and skill levels to play on the same hoop, in their driveway.  The instant it hit store shelves,... Bar codes help make life easier from manufacturing all the way through the supply chain, and up to the check-out register. While you're shopping for products, you can look for better deals and more information by scanning traditional UPCs with your phone, an app, and an internet connection. Pretty cool, right? Something new that you may have seen cropping up on billboards, articles, advertisements, and even product displays and packaging is a new kind of bar code, a 2D barcode.  These new 2D barcodes are also called a QR code which is short for quick response. UPCs are a 1D (one-dimensional) type of bar code. Traditionally, a laser is used to illuminate a thin stripe across the barcode. A 2D barcode contains multiple lines of information and require multiple lasers to read. Since not many of us carry lasers around in o... More

A few months ago we told you about our newest lawn and garden product - the Lifetime Raised Garden Kits.   We are thrilled to tell you they are quickly becoming a very popular product!  These 4'x4' kits provide a full garden setup in less than one hour of easy do-it-yourself assembly with no tools required.  But, a lot of you may still be wondering if they are really that easy to assemble and if they really work.  Well, wonder no more!  If you're a loyal reader of this blog, you may be familiar with our fellow Geekstyle blogger, Joe.  It turns out that not only does Joe get geeky with techy things, but he also gets geeky about going green, too!  A few weeks ago, we gave Joe a Lifetime Raised Garden Kit to review and use on his personal green/gardening website called PathTo... Even on Madison Avenue...
It's funny to see where our tables pop up. This table sighting isn't all that big of a surprise, but I certainly think it's noteworthy. We have a long-standing partnership with Hunter Public Relations out of New York City. Hunter PR handles all of our media realtions, large-scale media programs and helps us get the word out about our brand and our products. They are in the midst of remodeling their corporate offices in Manhattan, and their current workspace is -- to say it mildly -- a bit fragmented. They have had to make do with our fine products as their conference room tables. It seems to be working out just fine. We'll be heading out there in a few weeks to plan for our 2009 strategy, and although I hope their offices are finished, it would be fun to sit in a big, prestigious PR office on Madison Avenue talking about ou...
Helping Our Employees Stay Healthy
On October 6th and 7th, Lifetime Products hosted its 7th annual company Health Fair. What is a company health fair you ask? Lifetime's company health fair is held once a year and brings in a variety of local companies and vendors to the Freeport Center in Clearfield, Utah to give Lifetime employees the opportunity to explore various health-related topics, ask questions about company benefits and receive health screenings. This year the theme was Step into a Healthier You. The purpose of the theme was to help employees be more health concise and to strive to become ones best self. With over 40 vendors, some of which include gyms, the local fire department, health spas, first aid stations, banks, cell phone companies, etc.--the knowledge was vast! Employees were able to walk around to the different booths and ask questions to...
