All Lifetime Sheds are very durable and built to last, but if you happen to live in an area that receives an excessive amount of snowfall and/or high winds, the engineers at Lifetime Products have designed a special shed accessory especially with you in mind--our shed weather kits!  We are now offering a Snow Load Kit for the Lifetime 8 ft and 11 ft storage sheds, as well as an Extreme Weather Kit for the 8 ft storage sheds. (Please note that these kits are not compatible with the Lifetime garden style sheds in which the doors are located in the longer side.) The Snow Load Kit consists of steel brackets to reinforce the roof truss and increase the snow load weight capacity of your 8 ft or 11 ft storage shed roof to 30 lbs per square foot.  The Extreme Weather Kit for the 8 ft storage shed includes bracket rein... Wow! When we announced we were hosting our biggest giveaway of the year, your entries started rolling in fast!  Not only did we give away our BIGGEST type of product we make, we also had the biggest number of entries to date.  We asked you to simply tell us how you would use a Lifetime shed and, boy, did we get an earful.   Lawn and garden equipment topped the list as the most popular items people planned to keep in a Lifetime shed. However, storing outdoor toys and bikes, garage stuff and tools, extra kids' clothes, and holiday decorations were also frequently mentioned.   We even had some creative plans including to use the shed for a workshop, a "man cave", a playhouse, storing boat equipment, storing pool equipment, hiding a water tank, and keeping firewood ...  Using a composter is a great way to reduce, reuse, and recycle yard and kitchen waste.  Unfortunately, humans aren't the only ones who have figured out the benefits of composting…pests and rodents have, too!  I frequently hear on Twitter and online forums from people who have squirrels, rats, and other pesky critters taking advantage of the free dining facility in their backyard composter.   Eeeew! As unpleasant as that may be, I do have good news...  we've designed the Lifetime Compost Tumbler to be pest-proof!  How?  First, we made it a little trickier for pests to climb onto a Lifetime Composter bin by raising it off the ground on a weather-resistant steel frame.  But, even if critters do manage to make it onto the bin of a Lifetime Composter,  the double-walled, h... We Went Wassailing...Sort Of
It's hard to believe that Christmas is almost here. We don't really have any big pre-holiday traditions of our own, but we do try to partake in some of the local festivities wherever we live. To help get us in the holiday spirit this year, we attended the annual Wassailfest one evening in a nearby town. You're probably thinking, "what in the world is a Wassailfest?" Don't worry, so were we! I've heardof the Christmas carol "Here We Come A Wassailing" but didn't really know much more.Once I read the lyrics and did a little more reading, everything made more sense!Wassail is a traditional European beverage, popular at the holidays. (It tastes kind of like hot apple cider.) Apparently, wassailing dates back to the middle ages as an earlyform of holiday charitable giving.Peasants would go caroling to each house carrying cups. Winter Picnic Fun Playing Fox and Geese
My husband, kids, and I traveled from Texas to my parents' house in Ohio for Christmas. In addition to spending quality time with the cousins and grandparents, the trip was extra special for my kids since it was the first time my daughter was able to see snow (and the first time my son really remembers seeing it)! The trip provided all the magic for our kids that you envision with first-time snow fun including snow angels, sledding, tubing, ice skating, snowball fights, and snowmen. One night, we surprised them with a unique winter treat of roasting hotdogs and s'mores over a campfire on the ice! My parents have a large wetlands area on their farm land perfect for ice skating. So, we invited the cousins and some neighbor kids over for our fun winter evening. We took bales of hay and some folding camping chairs for seating ar...
Lifetime Harvest Exchange Shares Fresh Produce with Employees and Local Food Bank
If theres one thing we love at Lifetime, its food. Lets be honest here who doesnt?! So earlier this summer, employees started growing their own gardens for fresh produce, including some right here at Lifetime! But the hard work put into growing veggies isnt where all the fun is. Its in the eating. So for two months, we've been hosting our very own Farmers Market. Every Tuesday from August till September 25, Lifetime employees have been exchanging produce with each other during our Harvest Exchange. Weve seen gorgeous peppers, corn, tomatoes, lettuce, kale, and just about anything else you can imagine. The best part about this, is all the food that hasnt been picked up by employees has been donated to the local Food Bank to benefit members of our community. Often, having fresh vegetables in the home is a difficult thing, and...
