First of all, you may be wondering what the benefits are to composting. Well consider the following: You'll reduce landfill waste by recyling your organic materials into a nutritious product for your garden. You'll save money that you may otherwise have to spend on expensive commercial fertilizers in order to maintain a healthy soil. You'll improve your garden's ability to retain moisture by incorporating your homemade fertilizer into the soil. You get to enjoy beautiful healthy plants! There are obvious advantages to owning the enclosed Lifetime Composter rather than simply heaping your table scraps and lawn clippings onto an open pile in the garden. Open piles give off offensive odors, attract bugs and other pests, and just aren't very attractive. Obviously, an enclosed composter will eliminate the... More

In 1986, Lifetime Products introduced and patented the first complete basketball system that could be adjusted in just seconds. Over the years, Lifetime has revolutionized the basketball industry and has literally changed the game to fit everyone’s level. As I’m sure many of you are aware, there is a wide variety of height adjustment mechanisms available, and sometimes it can be overwhelming knowing the differences between them all! Here is a list of some of Lifetime’s main height adjustments to help you choose what might work best for you.  Telescoping Height Adjustment The telescoping height adjustment allows you to raise and lower the basketball hoop without the use of any tools. You can easily adjust the rim height from 7.5 to 10 feet, in 6-inch increments.      Quick Adjust®... More

I had the privilege of attending the Utah Genius Award luncheon this past week, on behalf of Lifetime, as we were awarded one of Utah’s Top 20 companies with the most patents issued in 2009! The awards honor people, cities and organizations with the most patents or trademarks throughout the past year. This past year, Lifetime received 15 new patents! These patents cover a variety of our tables and our fold-up utility trailer. The patents join Lifetime's more than 475 existing patents, which protect our innovations and intellectual properties that our employees worked so hard to invent and design. A crowd of around 500 people gathered Wednesday at Salt Lake’s Little America Hotel for this annual event. Governor Gary Herbert opened the awards luncheon with Doug Fabrizio of KUER radio as the keynote speaker. A prod... More

We've been pretty busy at Lifetime this week and can finally tell you what all the commotion is about.  Lifetime is expanding into another new sporting goods industry…water sports!  Fun, huh?  Just this week, Lifetime acquired the assets of San Bernardino, CA-based Dragonfly Innovation, Corp. and its kayak products.   It's a move that just makes good sense for Lifetime.  Kayaks you say?  Yep, that's right. It's a great way to complement our other sporting goods lineup, which already includes basketball systems, soccer goals, and a tetherball set.  And, the kayaks work well with our plastics manufacturing expertise, since they are a blow-molded product.   Lifetime will manufacture the blow-molded kayaks in its Utah facility, which means the creation of more manufacturi... Happy Earth Day!
It's time once again to celebrate ourwonderousEarth. Though Earth Day began as a grass-roots movement 38 years ago to educate people about pollution, conservation and to draw the government's attention, it has changed over the years. Today, we all have concerns like climate change and diminishing resources fresh on our minds. It seems like everyone's makingsome small changes, or just being a little more aware.I've made a consious effort to buy moreorganic food, switching my light bulbs to compact florescents (CFLs), and turning off unused electronics. But I'd like to do more this Earth Day, so I've been searching for ideas. Here are some of the best one's I've found...afew of them utilize ourLifetime Products: 1- Plant a tree in your back yard: Besides being a fun activity for your family, planting trees help to lower green...
Building Our Lifetime Shed - Step 3
It's official! Our Lifetime shed building project is finished! A few weeks ago we added a wood "skirt" to the front of the wood platform to hide the gap underneath, to prevent critters from getting under our shed, and to make it more attractive. Since we have a wood fence around our yard, we bought two more fence boards and cut them into short pieces. We nailed them onto the platform and basically made a miniature fence along the bottom front of the shed. We then stained it to match the rest of our fencing. It turned out great! We used some of the rock that was left from building our house (and rock that we dug up in our yard when we built our shed) to build some landscaping beds around the shed. We planted a few pansies, and a bush, and - voila- we were done! We originally built our Lifetime shed to get rid of some of the c...
