Who doesn’t love a good game of MONOPOLY? At the 2009 MONOPOLY U.S. National Championship, held on April 14 and 15 in Washington, DC, the focus was on the game — and the pressure was on for the 28 finalists. Up for grabs was $20,580, which is equivalent to the “bank” in a standard game of Monopoly. To ensure that no wobbly tables stood in the way of their peak performance, Lifetime provided the tournament with twelve 37-inch square fold-in-half card tables. (Check out the picture to see them all set up and ready for competitive play). These tables turned out to be perfect for the intense game. Their fold-in-half frames lock automatically, so they could stand up to the players’ table slaps of excitement and fist pounds of frustration. They also come with a convenient carrying handle, making tourna... More

The TaskSpread six yards of compost on our lawn.  Since this was going to be some serious yard work, I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to test the new Lifetime Wheelbarrow and Lifetime Yard Cart to see how they stack up against a traditional wheelbarrow. The Traditional WheelbarrowI started off by hauling one load of dirt with a traditional wheelbarrow with one wheel.  I filled it full with 35 shovels of dirt.  Right away, when I went to pick it up, it started to tip sideways on me and I really had to work to keep it from falling completely over.  Once I got it balanced, I could push it pretty easily, but it was a constant struggle to maintain stability.  Then came the tipping test.   I pushed the wheelbarrow over, but had no control how far over it tipped.  So, needless to... Yes, the title of this post should be sung to the tune of the chorus of The Mickey Mouse Club theme song...you can thank me later for getting that song stuck in your head all day.  :) I can't believe it!  My little baby girl is 2.  Seriously, where did the time go?  The days go by soooo slowly (with all the whining, screaming, monotonous routines, etc.), but  yet the years go by sooooo quickly. We celebrated with a Minnie Mouse birthday party on Saturday with a few family members and friends.  I decorated while Alyssa was napping so she was completely surprised when she woke up.  It was so heartwarming to see her huge smile when she saw all of the Minnie Mouse decorations!  "MINNIE!  Party!  Ready to party!," she shouted while bouncing up and down.  So cut... I first learned about victory gardens at a young age, thanks to the stories I read about Molly McIntire, a fictional character who grew up during World War II. Molly and her family grew their own vegetables since crops grown by farmers were needed for the American troops. Well, once the war ended, victory gardens took a back seat to the fluorescent lights of the grocery superstore. With our nation’s current financial situation though, I’m not surprised to see victory gardens—or “recession gardens,” as they’re known these days—making a comeback.I recently read that an estimated 43 million American households will be planting their own “recession gardens” this year. Forty-three million! It just goes to show that lots of people across the nation are catching on to this trend&... More

We moved to a new house two years ago and I love it!  Out of the entire house, guess which room my favorite?  Ok, trick question…it’s not even really a room. It’s the closet in our office!  It’s a large walk-in closet with two doors and a window.  I use one side for storage of big things like suitcases, our baby pack-n-play, etc.  The other side is my own little niche….my craft closet.  Most of the crafts I do are just small paper type crafts (handmade cards, invitations, etc.) so I don’t need a lot of room or fancy supplies.  Most people laugh at me and ask why I don’t just use the entire office as my craft room.  Well, as I’ve mentioned before, I love to be organized so it’s crucial to my sanity that I don’t leave projects-in-process just laying around where I can see all of the clu... So, I have to fess up. Lifetime makes a kids' picnic table, but I don't own one. To make matters worse, I own a Step 2 picnic table instead.  And, I actually bought my kids' picnic table AFTER I worked for Lifetime Products and knew firsthand the great quality in all products from Lifetime.  Oh, stop it!  I can already hear my former co-workers shouting "why, why, why?"  as they read this.  I purchased the table for my son's 2nd birthday. (Great present idea, BTW!)  At the time, we lived in Phoenix  where we had a tiny backyard with an in-ground pool and a piece of grass that was smaller than our master bathroom...no joke.  Everyone's backyard in Phoenix is surrounded by a 6' cement block fence...how cozy, huh?!?  Anyway, with such a small lot an... There’s a lot to cover when you talk about compost. First let me talk about Lifetime’s new Composter, available at BuyLifetime.com with free shipping! If you’re not familiar with compost, don’t worry, I’ll cover that further down in this article, too. I saw initial designs and a prototype at a recent company meeting, and being the “back to nature” kind of guy that I am I wanted one right away, but I had to wait until the product made it to market. Yesterday I was able to buy my very own Lifetime Composter. First off, this thing is HUGE, but it doesn’t take up a lot of space. It fits easily in a 4-foot square (the footprint of my old compost pile), and wow, does it hold a lot! 75 gallons or 10 cubic feet to be exact. The theory behind most tumbler-style composters is that... More

I know, I know.  You're probably getting tired of hearing about my Lifetime Spring Break stories.  But, I can't help it!  There were just too many to share.  But, I promise, this is my last one...at least for Spring Break 2009.  :) The weather during Spring Break was absolutely gorgeous.  We spent practically every waking minute outside.  So, it was no surprise that my kids wanted to eat lunch outside on the little tiny condo balcony one day.  (And, I do mean tiny!)  At home, my kids eat outside quite often on their own little kids' picnic table.  But, the only patio furniture at the condo were tall, bar-height chairs designed so you could see over the railing to view the ocean...not exactly conducive for short, fidgety kids.  So, we had to improvise.  Sure, we cou... With springtime upon us, everyone with a yard now has their mind set on spring clean-up, fresh planting, gardening, fertilizing, composting… the list seems almost endless.   BuyLifetime.com was excited to offer this as soon as the wheelbarrows came off the line, but the product beat the packaging! BuyLifetime.com offered the wheelbarrows in the bulk packaging (what I affectionately called the “neighborhood discount pack”), but most customers only need one or two of these wheelbarrows, not seven or eight. So, if you seen the Lifetime Wheelbarrow on BuyLifetime.com in the past, but didn’t want to get half-a-dozen or more of them, today you can buy just one! And, just like everything on BuyLifetime.com, the Lifetime Wheelbarrow is available with FREE SHIPPING, right to your door! More

In my Spring Break post, I mentioned how my parents crammed their van full and drove from Ohio to Texas to stay in a condo on the beach in Port Aransas for the month of March.  Let me tell you, they packed practically everything but the kitchen sink.  Literally.  Clothes, tool boxes, fishing poles, a laptop, a printer, bicycles, a sewing machine... and even a Lifetime table!  Seriously!  My mom packed her 4' fold-in-half adjustable height table so she could use it as her sewing table.  (Thank goodness its compact for easy transportation because they needed every inch of cargo space they could get.)  Mom set the table up right in front of the windows so she could enjoy the ocean view while she sewed.  She loves to make quilts as a hobby, but I also took advantage of her skills and had h... Take a seat. How Lifetime Chairs Compare.
Lifetime makes several different styles of folding chairs. The two most popular are our original Contoured Folding Chair and our newer Contemporary Folding Chair. I happen to own both of them, so I thought I would take a few up-close photos to show you how they stack uh, I mean foldup to each other. First, if youve never sat in a Lifetime folding chair, you should. Lifetime has conducted numerous focus groups and consumer surveys where we line up various styles of folding chairsours, metal, padded, etc. While the Lifetime chair may not look comfortable, once people take a seat, they quickly change their mind. Why are Lifetime chairs so comfortable? Easy. First and foremost - size. Take a look at this first picture. See? A Lifetime folding chair is significantly wider and taller than a standard folding chair you purchase wit...
