Last week Lifetime's Home & Garden Guru Charlie Nardozzi's Tip of the Week provided quick pointers of how to properly clean and store your garden tools for the winter.  His tip reminded me of a handy idea I picked up while visiting BackYards Inc. a few weeks ago.   (BackYards Inc. is the official outlet store for Lifetime Products with five locations in Utah.) Lifetime's plastic sheds come with two peg strips, which I installed on the shed walls.  (If I recall, I think that's where the instruction photos show to install them, as well.)   However, to maximize storage space, did you know you can also install the peg strips on the shed doors! Handy, huh? Are your peg strips already full?  No problem!  You can buy additional peg strips, as well as other Lifetime s... More

Do you have guests with little ones coming to stay with you for the holidays?  Fill ill-equipped to meet all the baby needs?  Sometimes the little comforts of home can make a big difference when traveling with children who are used to routines.  One easy way to accommodate your diaper-wearing visitors (and their parents) is to have a changing table set up in their room.  Hold on, no need to run to the local baby store.  Simply pull out your Lifetime folding table!  Trust me, it works perfect! This summer when we were home visiting my parents, my mom set up her Lifetime 4' adjustable height fold-in-half table in my daughter's room.  We used it as a diaper changing table for my 2-year-old and the 4' table was the perfect size...we even had room to keep the wipes on the table, too... My son is in kindergarten this year and I love hearing what fun things he does in school each day since it's all so new to him.  Last week he came home and couldn't wait to tell me about gym class - they had played tetherball!  Wow, does that bring back some memories.  Apparently, I'm not the only one that remembers standing in line during school recess waiting for my turn to take the big swing.  A few weeks ago, one of the popular Twitter topics was #whenwewereyoung.  (BTW, you can follow us on Twitter @Lifetime 365!) I was surprised to read how many people tweeted about tetherball memories!  Some fond, some not so fond...guess it depends on if they were hit by the ball!?! Well, good news!  Tetherball is no longer limited to school playgrounds!  Lifetime has made a new ... More

Gathering extended family together on Thanksgiving Day adds quality to life. There is excitement in the air as guests start to arrive and greet each other and catch up. Children especially love to visit their cousins at the holidays. When entertaining, always keep in mind that invited children are guests too. Having an activity table for the kids that can double as a dining table can be invaluable at holiday gatherings. My six grandchildren love to have their own kids' table with activities. On a busy day like Thanksgiving, offer crafts that are simple and fun. Try these easy ideas to keep your young guests entertained. As always for safety, adult supervision is required. Set up a Lifetime Children’s Folding Picnic Table and cover with a sheet of white butcher paper and fasten with tape. Have washable markers and sh... More

I took a trip to San Diego this past weekend for the International PRSA conference. Awesome information and great speakers. But, four days of workshops, exhibitions, and keynote speakers-- needless to say, it's healthy to take a break! What better place to do just that than the San Diego Zoo! For me, the highlight of the zoo is watching the polar bears. I was so excited to get to the exhibit, only to find him spread out on his belly, fast asleep. After a few minutes of debating wether or not I should move on, suddenly, he opened his eyes and lumbered over to the pool. Kids and adults alike ran toward the glass, watching with excitement. This polar bear knew exactly what he wanted to do. He swam to one side of the water, grabbed his ball with one humongous paw, a... More

Gardening in Vermont, I know about cold weather. The growing season is short and intense. I don’t dare go away in May or early June, because if I don’t get everything planted, I may miss the opportunity to get annual plants in the ground soon enough so they produce before a fall frost. Then there’s September and October when frost can come at any time. Yes, it’s a crazy place to garden, but I’ve learned some great tips over the years to make the gardening easier and more productive. Here are some of my best tips: Build the Soil- With the short growing season and cool temperatures, the soil needs to be in tiptop shape to produce the best annual flowers and vegetables. I like to add a 1- to 2-inch thick deep layer of compost on my beds every spring and work it in. It’s cheapest to buy the co... More

I'm sure you remember that I'm the "technical guy" that blogs about geeky stuff, right? Here's another one of those geeky posts, so if you're looking for Thanksgiving Tips or something along those lines, this isn't the article for you. If, however, you'd like to see some of the nuts and bolts that make Lifetime Products the company that it is, you might just enjoy the read. Lifetime Products recently made the switch to Microsoft Exchange 2010. For those of you who don’t know, Exchange is Microsoft’s “Swiss Army Knife” server application. An Elegant Wedding Reception
A few months ago I attended a wedding reception for an old friend of mine. He and his bride chose a beautiful nursery garden for the location; a small waterfall, a pond, and the abundance of lush foliage set the perfect scene. T he entire setup also used Lifetimetables and chairs in a great way that was simple and elegant, to be specefic, they used Lifetime round tables and folding chairs.Having planned my own wedding just 1 year ago last week, the whole process is still fresh on my mind. He and his bride emailed me 6 months before the wedding asking for some tips and contacts. So naturally, I was very curious to see how the reception turned out. After being a picky bride, you tend to notice all those things that tend to take SO MUCH time to choose. You appreciate the little details that took hours of debating, several las...

New Lifetime Tent Trailer - Perfect for Work and Play
I am very excited about Lifetimes new Tent Trailer. Not so much because it is a tent trailer (although that part is very cool especially for the camping family) but I am excited because of its diversity. After years of looking and deciding, my wife and I purchased our first home this year. We purchased the home brand new and, let me tell you, there is a lot of yard work to be done. We have tons to do to get the yard looking its best. We have decided to add decorative rock, as well as sprinklers and sod. This new Lifetime Tent Trailer will be perfect to haul them all. Trees and shrubbery are a must. We havent figured out what kind of trees we want to get, but its nice to know I have away to pick them up from the nursery when we decide. Wait a minute. Hauling rock, sod, and trees in our tent trailer? Yes! See, the new Lifetim...
