If there’s one thing I love, it’s college football season.  Having attended a large public university where football is its own institution, Saturdays are always spent in front of the TV watching the NCAA action.  I hadn’t had the pleasure of actually going to a game – and better yet, enjoying the tailgating festivities – in more than five years until recently.I might as well spill it now.  I’m a Gator fan – I bleed orange and blue.   And now is as good a time as any to be a Gator fan.  In case you don’t follow college football, the Gators ranked second this year and claimed a spot to play the number one ranked Oklahoma Sooners in this year’s Bowl Championship Series game in Miami, FL.  Essentially, this is the Super Bowl of college f... Sigh. So, I think I finally have my house and garage rearranged and organized to make room for all of the Christmas presents Santa brought. It was just a few things but, boy, they seemed to all be really big in size. As you know, I LOVE hosting garage sales. So, consequently, that means I insisted on storing everything we cleaned out until we have our garage sale in the spring. Luckily, we have two big attics in our house to stash all of our junk. But, I know lots of you don't have the luxury of an attic or basement so you have to haul your stuff to a storage building, or eliminate the hoarding all together and simply haul it to Goodwill or the dump. Oh, and I know how those multiple trips to storage buildings or the dump can get tiresome. Even a pickup truck can fill up fast. If this sounds all too familiar to you, maybe i... More

If you’re considering buying a card table, you owe it to yourself to check out this folding round table. Round tables typically don’t take up any more room than those old-fashioned square card tables, but they roll and store so much easier it’s almost criminal to consider the “square” alternative. A folding round table generally has a greater surface area and can seat more people than square tables, they look nicer in a banquet setting, and are still ideal for game night, scrapbook parties, church activities, holiday events, and even garage sales. This folding round table is available with free shipping from BuyLifetime.com! Bulk discount pricing available. More

My oh my.  What a weekend!  My husband and I hosted a party at our house for his squadron on Saturday night.  We always like to make things interesting and entertaining so we decided to host a Murder Mystery party for our 39 guests.  Never been to a Murder Mystery party?  More details on how it works in a minute... The theme of our Murder Mystery party was a Class of '85 High School Reunion.  Everyone had to dress like their character would have in the 80s.  Wow, talk about some, like, totally awesome costumes!  The women pulled out all the classics including jelly bracelets, leggings, shoulder pads, and cans of Aquanet hairspray to tease their hair.  (Ah, the good 'ol days.)  Not to be outdone, the men donned layered shirts, Miami Vice suits, acid washed jeans, and rat tails... It’s National Play-doh Day!
Bet you didn’t know it’s National Play-doh Day today, did you? Not exactly sure why I know, I guess I just stumbled across it online somehow. I’m also not sure what you’re supposed to do on National Play-doh Day and who even recognizes or sponsors it. But, in honor of National Play-doh Day, I thought it would be appropriate to post of picture of my son playing with…yep, you guessed it…Play-doh!:) Kids love Play-doh. Parents love the idea of fun, quiet, creative play…but, deep down, most of us hate the mess it makes and detest the fact that the stuff dries out after just a few months no matter how tightly you put on the lid! A lot of my friends only let their kids use Play-doh outside so they don’t have to worry about cleaning up those gazallion little rice-sized pieces that get dropped on the floor. I’m not that hard-core, ...
30 Years Later
When I was a little girl, my Grandpa made me a very special keepsake gift...a handmade wooden dollhouse, complete with shingles cut from sandpaper. Well, just like a real house roof has to be replaced about every 20 years, evidently so does a dollhouse roof! Afterour four moves, (ok, and 30 years of sun damage, dust, and wear-and-tear!) the dollhouse roof was about 10 years past its prime. The sandpaper shingles were curling up and literally falling off. My Dad and I have been wanting to replace them for several years now, but we've just never got around to it whenever he came to visit from out-of-state. This weekend my parents were here and it was a cold, rainy weekend with not much to do. So, my Dad and I FINALLY started the dollhouse roof replacement project. My Dad's father was the one who originally built the dollhouse...
New Clearview Backboards
One of the great things about working at Lifetime Products is our people. We have a great group of engineers in our Sporting Goods department. Last fall, we were trying to come up with a way to make our basketball system backboards more like the pro boards. With some late nights and a lot of design work, we were able to come up with our new Clearview backboards. What is Clearview? Well, I am going to tell you. With residential systems it is common in the industry to have a backboard brace behind the square target of your backboard. On these systems we use a clear material called polycarbonate or on the higher end systems tempered-glass to make them look like the pro's. However, the backboard braces were blocking your view through the backboard. We wanted to remove the braces behind the target so there was a clear view more ...
