How long at Lifetime- A small portion of my lifetime has been at Lifetime.

My favorite products from Lifetime- The Commercial Grade 6ft Fold-in-Half Table, and the Contemporary Folding Chair.  I also think the Fold-up Trailer is pretty spiffy – but until I get a vehicle with a hitch, this will not be a likely purchase.

I just attended our annual sales conference last month.  During the conference, the main product categories of our company present category updates and strategic direction.  We also train the rest of the team and the sales force on our product, as well as why we have, and offer, what we do. One topic I covered during my presentation was the need for different table grades.  Our table grades allow us to sell quality product to different consumer segments.  At Lifetime, we tout ourselves on the fact that we offer the best product on the planet in each of our consumer segments.  We break our folding table lines into four different grades:  Professional, Commercial, Light Commercial, and Residential. Our Professional Grade product is our highest specified product, having the highest weigh... More

We all use folding tables for a variety of reasons. Just think of how you use your tables.  You can probably think of a few different uses, right?  At Lifetime, we provide affordable quality tables in all shapes and sizes for that exact reason.  For dining and eating, a standard banquet style table works really well - the 30-inch wide surface provides the right amount of space to lay out the food and still give you room for plates and table settings across from each other.  Now, the question I pose today is what about the times when you just need to display food in a buffet style and you need to keep the table out of the way? Well, a great option for you would be to use one of our 18-inch wide Lifetime Conference Tables as that perfect buffet table for the home, office, or church get together.&n... Lots of Americans will be rushing out this week to buy an extra table for their Thanksgiving feast and upcoming holiday dinners.  Because of its size, one of the most popular folding table options on the market is the square table, often referred to as a card table. At Lifetime, we pride ourselves on constantly innovating and improving products.  And, I am happy to share with you that Lifetime has made this popular temporary card table even more convenient to own, store, and transport thanks to a fold-in-half design and a built-in carrying handle. The new Lifetime 34-Inch Square Fold-in-Half Table offers ample seating space for up to four guests, yet folds in half to just 17½ inches to easily carry and fit in the trunk of the smallest car or a hallway closet.  However, even though the Lifetime 34-... As consumers, we have become accustomed to looking for safety features when making important purchase decisions, especially when it comes to products like vehicles, power tools, and baby items.  But, did you know you should also look for safety features when buying a folding table, too?   In my past few blog posts, I've been diving into various topics that help you make more educated folding table purchases.  Unfortunately, probably the most overlooked features consumers consider when buying a folding table are safety features. The last thing you need is for your table to collapse while you are using it! So, what should you look for to ensure you are purchasing a safe table?  A secure locking mechanism for the table legs.  Now, the tricky part is that locking mechanisms will vary depending on t... One of the most frequently asked questions I hear at Lifetime as a member of the Tables & Chairs team is:  "How much weight will this folding table hold?"  That's a pretty loaded question, no pun intended.  You would think the answer would be pretty cut-and-dry.  Truth is, it's actually quite complicated.  But, as part of my continuing series on what features to look for when picking the perfect folding table, today I'm going to help answer that question while helping you understand why durability is so important to consider when buying a folding table. So, as a shopper, where should you start to try and figure out which table is strong enough for your needs?  First, before you purchase a folding table, think about what you primarily want to use the table for.  Paper crafts may not requ... A few weeks ago I wrote a post with some basic questions to ask yourself before buying a folding table.  One of the questions was "Are planning on using your table inside, outside or both?" Obviously, choosing a weather-resistant table is important to consider if you'll be using your table outside.  So,  today I want to tell you a little bit more about what to look for if weather-resistance is a necessary feature for you.  Let's face it though, folding tables are most often used for occasions when extra seating or a temporary work surface is necessary… which usually means using one is not really "planned".  So, it's important to look at a table's protection against weathering and water damage no matter what your original intended purchase reason. Look for protection on any wood surfaces.&... More

When purchasing a folding table, you may think that all you need is a basic structure with a flat surface, four legs, and the ability to fold flat. In some cases, you may be right, right? I think about tables and chairs a lot. Every day I  talk with our Lifetime Tables and Chairs team about corner impact, leg locking mechanisms, channeling, leg deployment, and lots of other details that will make you stop reading this. All this knowledge has made me a firm believer that a very durable table with safety and convenience features will pay off in the long run. Do you remember the "old" folding tables? Let me jog your memory-- they were wooden, heavy, and clumsy. I remember carrying heavy tables made of wood or metal, with sharp metal edges below the table top that cut my fingers. If you were alive in the 1990's and ea... More

For the past several years our company has participated in the Annual Outdoor Retailer Show at the Salt Palace in Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah.  You’ll find the show filled with aisle after aisle of camping gear, climbing gear, custom water craft, outdoor apparel and the like.  This year at our booth you would have also found our sweet Fold-Up Utility Trailer and our convertible Yard Cart. But anyone who’s been to a trade show knows that besides touting your own wares, half of the reason you’re there is to see what everyone else is doing.  So while meandering through the multitude of retailers just trying to keep up on relevant trends, I happened across some of our tables.  A configuration of several card tables made for a very practical and common use of our product – a convenient meeting area to discuss ... How I Used the Lifetime Space Planner to Plan Bear's Backyard
As you can see in my last post, Lifetime recently partnered with the Utah Jazz to sponsorBear's Backyard--aplay area for families. It has becomea popularhangout for fans! I had the opportunity to go toa gamethe other nightagainst the Atlanta Hawks. It was one of the first timescoming back sinceIcollaborated with theLifetime Store to plan the area in October. It turns out, seeing kids having fun onthe Lifetimeplaygrounds and Double Shotswere one of the few happy sights that night...our beloved Jazz were 3-pointed to deathby those pesky Hawks, resulting in a score of110-87.As you can see in this photo, the faces of the people behind us are a little nervous. Fans leftstill hopeful though. I think we know that the Jazzwill get back on their winning streak soon! When putting together the plan for Bear's Backyard, we were faced wi...
Things I Learned When Registering My Lifetime Manta Kayak
Last week, we journeyed to Ohio for our annual summer vacation to visit my parents. While we were there, Lifetime shipped me a Lifetime Manta tandem kayak to use so I could share some personal experiences and reviews with you. But, before we could legally use the Lifetime Manta Kayak in Ohio public waters, we had to register it as a watercraft with the State of Ohio. Ideally, the process should be quick although, unfortunately, the day we went the service wasn't exactly speedy or friendly. But, we simply filled out a form with our contact information and kayak information, paid $25 for a 3 year registration (cost may vary with each state), and received our registration number and tag decal. Then, we headed to Walmart to buy the numbers to stick on the side of the kayak. That's it. Done. But, in case you are new (like me) to r...
