What I do for a living- First and foremost, I'm a doting mommy of a second grader and a 4-year-old, and a proud wife of a USAF F-16 fighter pilot!  In my pre-children life, I was the Communications Manager for Lifetime Products.  But, once you're a Lifetime fan, you're hooked!  So, after a few years of hiatus, I'm now a WAHM and am happily back on board at Lifetime as a freelance PR Consultant.  In addition to blogging for Lifetime, you can follow and chat with me on Lifetime's Twitter account @Lifetime365 and on the Lifetime Products Facebook page!

Topics I blog about- How I use Lifetime products in my everyday life at home, for kids parties and community activities, as well as inspiring stories... and GIVEAWAYS!  :)

My favorite products from Lifetime- 4x2 Table, 30” Personal Table, Chair, Youth Kayak, and Wheelbarrow.  Although, our Shed and Yard Cart are pretty close favorites, too!

Squirrels, and mice, and bears - oh my!  Several of you who entered our giveaway this month mentioned that you would like your next composter to be pest-proof.  Well, good news!  All Lifetime Composters are already pest-proof!  That's right.  We've made it difficult for little pests to climb onto Lifetime Compost Tumblers by raising them off the ground.  Our lids securely latch tight to keep the pests out and compost in.  And, the double-walled, high-density polyethylene shell prevents rodents - and even bears - from making holes in Lifetime Composters. Yes, I said BEARS!  Check out one of our previous blog posts that shows pictures from actual customers who have had their Lifetime Composters survive bear attacks! So, we can happily check "pest-proof" of our list for our next composter... More

This giveaway has ended. It's composting season. Yes, technically, every day is composting season. But fall, in particular, is a great time to really build up your compost. You can add the leaves you rake up in your yard, the dead plants from your garden and landscaping, the wood ashes from your fireplace, the rotten Halloween jack-o-lanterns, and your kitchen scraps - including most of those unwanted leftovers from Thanksgiving dinner! So, today we are starting a giveaway for a Lifetime Dual Compost Tumbler to help get one random winner off to a great start with fall composting.  The Lifetime Dual Compost Tumbler is one of our newest members of the Lifetime composter family.  It features two 50-gallon bins to efficiently and continuously batch compost. Simply fill one bin with co... I'm not a wedding expert, but I think it's safe to say that wedding gifts have changed over the years.  Or, at least the way we decide what to give as a wedding gift.  Today, the happy couple typically registers at their favorite store for gifts they want or think they need for their new home.  So, a majority of gift givers simply pick something off the list or give a gift card so the couple can make their own purchase.  Sure, this method has some advantages.  But, in most instances, gone are the days of creative gift giving.  Case and point… I can't remember the last time I was at a wedding and saw a card table and chairs sitting there as a gift.  But apparently, once upon a time, a card table and chairs was a popular wedding gift.  We had numerous entrants to this month's givea...  This giveaway has ended. Halloween isn't even here yet, but if you have walked through any stores lately, you know that retailers are already in full swing with Thanksgiving and even Christmas displays.  Personally, I like to think about one holiday at a time!  But, at Lifetime we're already starting to think about the holidays, too with products, sales, and more.  In fact, the holiday entertaining season is one of the most popular times for people to purchase Lifetime folding tables and chairs because they need extra dining space for Thanksgiving dinners, extra buffet table space, and more. So even though it's still October, this month our giveaway is geared for your November and December needs.  We're giving away a Lifetime 34" Fold-In-Half Square Table and four Lifetime Light Commercial Folding c... A few months ago I forewarned you of the top three things to know before assembling a Lifetime Basketball Hoop. Today, I'm going to share with you some of the specific hurdles I alluded to in that post that we crossed along the way when assembling our own Lifetime Basketball Hoop (model 90228). To be honest, I'm kind of embarrassed to share my story with you given some of the pretty major "oopsies" we had.  After all, since I work for Lifetime, you'd think I'd know how to assemble the products.  Not necessarily true.  This was my first time assembling a Lifetime Basketball Hoop.  Let's just say, I can definitely empathize with our customers now! Before we started assembling, we laid out all of our parts and pieces to make sure we could easily find everything.  Thankfully, all the parts and bags of ha... More

Wow!  A LOT of you have storage projects on your to-do lists!  We were overwhelmed with entries this month and we heard dozens of different uses that all of our entrants had in mind for the Lifetime Outdoor Storage Box.  But, a big congratulations goes out to Melissa O. of Hamptom, Virginia who was the one lucky winner of our September giveaway. She will receive a free Lifetime 80-Gallon Outdoor Storage Box and plans to use it for her gardening supplies… a very popular idea shared by many of you.  It's always interesting to learn how our customers plan to use our products. Your feedback helps us design our products to best fit your needs so thank you for always sharing. Just because you didn't win the giveaway doesn't mean you're completely out of luck.  If you are still wishing you had ... More

Building Our Lifetime Shed - Step 1
Okey-dokey. So, our Lifetimeshed arrived and we read through the assembling directions. Now that we had the general idea of what we were about to undertake, we were ready to start building our shed! Well, sort of. Before we could actually start assembling our Lifetime shed, we had to prepare the shed site. As you may recall, we plan to put our 8x5 Lifetime shed right up against our back fence. But, our yard has a pretty significant slope and we can only dig about 6 before we hit solid rockpractically boulders in some spots! And, lucky us, we also had a tree stump and roots we had to take into consideration. Fun times. So, our first step was to level the ground to be flush with the tree stump by removing weeds, rocks, mulch, adding dirt, etc. Ground ready? Check. The Lifetime shed directions recommend building the shed on a...
Like Legwarmers and Mariah Carey, Recession Gardens Are Making A Comeback
I first learned about victory gardens at a young age, thanks to the stories I read about Molly McIntire, a fictional character who grew up during World War II. Molly and her family grew their own vegetables since crops grown by farmers were needed for the American troops. Well, once the war ended, victory gardens took a back seat to the fluorescent lights of the grocery superstore. With our nations current financial situation though, Im not surprised to see victory gardensor recession gardens, as theyre known these daysmaking a comeback.I recently read that an estimated 43 million American households will be planting their own recession gardens this year. Forty-three million! It just goes to show that lots of people across the nation are catching on to this trendand with savings of up to $5,000 on groceries a year, no wonder ...
What Makes A Folding Table Weather-Resistant?
A few weeks ago I wrote a post with some basic questions to ask yourself before buying a folding table. One of the questions was "Are planning on using your table inside, outside or both?" Obviously, choosing a weather-resistant table is important to consider if you'll be using your table outside. So, today I want to tell you a little bit more about what to look for if weather-resistance is a necessary feature for you. Let'sface it though, folding tables are most often used for occasions when extra seating or a temporary work surface is necessary which usually means using one is not really "planned". So, it's important to look at a table's protection against weathering and water damage no matter what your original intended purchase reason. Look for protection on any wood surfaces. Water (or humidity) can often get between ad...
